Season 3 of HBO’s The White Lotus hit the halfway mark on Sunday with the fourth episode that revealed a slew of new and important details.

As with the first two seasons, Season 3 began with a flash-forward that jumped ahead in time one week, revealing that one of the characters featured in the season would ultimately die.

Tonight’s new episode may have revealed a murder weapon, while also revealing the vengeful motive for Rick (Walton Goggins) for making this trip in the first place.

After a brazen robbery in broad daylight, security guard Gatok (Tayme Thapthimthong) was given access to a gun to keep the resort safe.

Unfortunately for him, that gun was ultimately stolen, as Gatok failed to secure it in the locked drawer before hanging out with his crush Mook (Blackpink’s Lisa).

The White Lotus is also becoming just as well-known for its mysterious death stories as it is for full-frontal nudity, with yet another surprising ɴuᴅᴇ scene on Sunday.

Rick has been on edge the entire trip, taking his girlfriend Chelsea (Aimee Lou Wood) on what she thought was a lavish vacation.

Rick was quite intrigued by the resort’s owner Sritala (Lek Patravadi), who owns the property with her husband, who is said to be a famous American named Jim Hollinger.

Early on, Rick becomes upset when he learns that her husband is not there, but actually in Bangkok, which leads Rick to arrange a quick trip there.

Fed up with all the secrecy, Chelsea finally gets Rick to admit why they are there: because Sritala’s hubby Jim Hollinger (who has yet to be seen this season) is the man who murdered Rick’s father! 

‘I thought he was supposed to be here. I read where he had a stroke and was in the hospital here, but he’s not here, he’s in Bangkok, so I’m going to Bangkok,’ Rick explains.

Rick adds he never knew his father,’ adding, ‘he was a do-gooder,’ and that he came to Thailand to, ‘help these locals keep a shady American from stealing their land.’

‘I don’t really know all the details, but my father was trying to do the right thing, and one day, he disappeared and they never found him,’ Rick said, adding his mother told him, ‘the name of the guy who did it and he owns this H๏τel and half of f***ing Thailand I guess.’

Rick didn’t seem to know what he was going to do when he finally comes face to face with Jim Hollinger, though he did seem plenty angry this man took his father from him.

It’s possible that this Jim Hollinger man may actually be Rick’s father, and his mother just made up the story of Hollinger killing Rick’s father to cope with her own pain of him abandoning her, though that remains to be seen. 

Fans were left stunned with yet another full frontal male nudity scene early on in the episode as well.

Timothy Ratliff (Jason Isaacs) has been on edge all trip, learning that the feds are closing in on him while he’s in Thailand.

To cope with this stress, the start of Sunday’s episode shows Timothy stealing some of his wife Victoria’s (Parker Posey) Lorazepam pills.

During a sH๏τ where he’s clad in just a robe, Timothy stretches out in front of his wife and kids Saxon (Patrick Schwarzenegger), Lochlan (Sam Nivola) and Piper (Sarah Catherine Hook), as the robe is pulled up, exposing his genitals.

Piper and Lochlan both turn away, disgusted, as he fixes the robe and goes on about his day.

This is the third full frontal scene in four episodes, following Saxon’s full frontal scene in the premiere and Chelsea’s bare breasts scene in the second episode.

Rick’s downward spiral continues when he retrieves his phone and learns that he’s most certainly going to prison at some point, and that the feds may have even frozen his ᴀssets.

After his phone call, a stressed Timothy makes a discovery that we can’t see, which we see in the preview for Episode 5 is the stolen gun.

Timothy is seen holding the gun in the preview, though what he plans to do with it remains to be seen. 

Timothy doesn’t really have any enemies at The White Lotus, though it’s worth noting that he did get in an argument with Rick over his cigarette smoking on the ferry to the resort.

Given that Rick is seemingly at the end of his rope, with his family about to find out about all of his misdeeds, it’s possible Timothy could turn the gun on himself.

Earlier in the episode, Timothy’s wife Victoria called him a ‘boy scout,’ hinting that she’s seemingly clueless about his criminal dealings. 

Elsewhere in the episode, famous actress Jaclyn (Michelle Monaghan) and her best friends Kate (Leslie Bibb) and Laurie (Carrie Coon) leave the resort in search of some fun. 

They enlist their ‘health mentor’ Valentin (Arnas Fedaravičius) to show them a place that’s more fun, and he takes them to a club and introduces them to two friends.

Also Belinda (Natasha Rothwell) acts on a hunch and looks up Tanya McQuoid (Jennifer Coolidge from Seasons 1 and 2) and learns she died in Sicily.

Given that Rick is seemingly at the end of his rope, with his family about to find out about all of his misdeeds, it’s possible Timothy could turn the gun on himself

Elsewhere in the episode, famous actress Jaclyn (Michelle Monaghan) and her best friends Kate (Leslie Bibb) and Laurie (Carrie Coon) leave the resort in search of some fun

She also learns that her husband Greg – now going by Gary (Jon Gries) – was wanted for questioning, as she seems to realize he may have had something to do with Tanya’s death.

While Belinda is keeping an eye on Greg, he’s also keeping an eye on Belinda, looking her up on social media, finding a picture of Belinda with her son Zion.

We learned earlier in the episode that Zion is on his way to visit Belinda in Thailand.

The White Lotus returns with the fifth episode of the eight-episode season on Sunday, March 16 at 9 PM ET on HBO.
