Dancing on Ice fans have shared their fury over this year’s winner after Sam Aston beat Michaela Strachan during the final on Sunday.
The Coronation Street star was awarded the trophy after beating the broadcaster, with Anton Ferdinand finishing in third place earlier in the show.
Sam and professional partner Molly Lanaghan were crowned Dancing On Ice’s 2025 champions after beating Michaela, with sources claiming this could be the show’s last ever final, amid doubts over its future.
As the potential final episode came to an end, viewers were left outraged after realising that no female celebrities have won since it was revived in 2018.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, ITV fans said that despite being the bookies favourite, Michaela had ‘no chance’ of winning.
One penned: ‘Lmao at a woman still not winning a series of this show since the revival. Thank f**k it’s being axed #DancingOnIce’.

The last woman who crowned the champion was Beth Tweddle who won series eight in 2013 alongside Daniel Whiston.
The following year Ray Quinn was crowned the winner and the show was taken off air for four years.
When the show rebooted in 2018, Jake Quickenden, James Jordan, Joe Swash, Sonny Jay, Regan Gascoigne, Nile Wilson, Ryan Thomas went on to win the show each year.
Before gymnast Beth won in 2013 only three women won the show after its launch in 2006.

Gaynor Faye was crowned the show’s first ever winner. After the 2006 season, Kyran Bracken, Suzanne Shaw, Ray Quinn, Hayley Tamaddon, Sam Attwater and Matthew Wolfenden went on to win the following years.
Out of a total of 16 winners, only four women have been crowned champion of the skating show.
During the show’s finale, Anton Ferdinand and pro Annette Dytrt finished in third place before finalists Sam and Michaela battled it out and performed judge Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean’s iconic Bolero.
The Corrie actor, 31, was left stunned by the result after the broadcaster, 58, had been bookies favourite to become show’s oldest ever winner and first female champion in a whopping 12-years.
Speaking to hosts Holly Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern just after his win was announced, he said: ‘I’ve literally got no words!’.
Just moments before, the soap star reflected that it had been ‘such a journey’ for himself and his professional partner.
He said: ‘It’s just been such a journey, and a mad one. And was always Molly’s dream to be on this show since watching it as a young girl.
‘It has [gone quick] but then you see some of the older clips and it feels like forever ago, I dunno!’.
Meanwhile runner up Michaela said: ‘It’s been an amazing journey and I feel that I’m a winner to get this far with Mark. I’ve done it for the older women!’
