Just a few years after leaving Real Housewives of Beverly HIlls, Denise Richards has returned to Bravo with her new show, and a few surprising cameos.

The 54-year-old actress debuted her new series Denise Richards and her Wild Things on Tuesday with the first two half-hour episodes.

The new series – which Richards started filming due to money woes according to recent reports – follows her life with husband Aaron Pyphers and daughters Sami, who turns 21 next week, Lola, 19 and Eloise, 13.

Part of the premiere featured a family picnic in Malibu, which included quite the surprising appearance: Brooke Mueller, who was married to Richards’ ex Charlie Sheen from 2008 to 2010, and one of her twin sons Bob.

Richards was granted temporary custody of Bob and his twin brother Max in 2013 after the boys were removed from Mueller’s home by Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services over allegations of drug use.

While Max wasn’t seen in the episode, Richards was seen giving 15-year-old Bob a hug before talking to Mueller, 47, about drama with her own daughters.

As guests started to arrive for the picnic – including Denise’s nephew Al and his girlfriend Lena, Aaron’s parents Steve and Patricia.

‘I’ve always been one (for) the more the merrier. I love having family together, I love having friends together,’ she said, as Brooke and Bob arrived.

Richards adds in confession, ‘I wanted to include Brooke, Charlie’s other ex-wife,’ as we hear Richards saying that she wishes Mueller was still in the condo complex where she currently has three units.

She adds in confession, ‘There’s a lot of history there. Her sons are my daughter’s brothers. We are a big blended family.’

As the family starts to eat – and Al starts talking to Lola about her ‘beef’ with Sami – Denise goes over to Brooke, eating alone, saying she, ‘loves your hair.’

Denise tells Brooke, ‘The reason I wanted to do a family environment is because Sami and Lola have not spoken for a long time. They’ve always been really close.’

They show flashback footage from a year earlier where both sisters talk about how close they are as Lola says she thinks they will ‘always be that way.’

Brooke adds, ‘I don’t know what it is about siblings, sometimes, just being complete opposites. Bob is more of an introvert like Charlie, and Max needs a playmate.’

The ‘drama’ involving Sami and Lola involves Sami previously dating one of Lola’s best friends, and Sami being mad that she’s still friends with him, even after Sami and him broke up. 

Mueller’s twin sons Bob and Max were just four years old when they were removed from her custody due to her ongoing drug use back in May 2013 (via Radar Online).

The court made the rather surprising move by granting temporary custody to Richards, after she had cared for the boys in the past during Mueller’s rehab stints.

Mueller entered a rehab program after the twins were remitted to Richards’ care, and later custody was transferred to Mueller’s brother, Scott.

She entered another treatment center in 2019 to tackle her substance abuse issues further, with the boys – then 10 – sent to live with Mueller’s parents. 

Mueller revealed back in September 2024 – in her first public interview in 15 years on the Hollywood Raw podcast – that she was celebrating nine months sober. 

Just hours before the show debuted, Denise, Sami and Lola opened up about their ‘complicated’ relationship with Charlie Sheen.

‘It’s been [complicated] from day one and both girls are finding their path in the relationship and that’s OK. Things can be up and down, but you can always get through it,’ Denise said.

Lola added, ‘My life is way more enjoyable when we have a relationship because if not, it’s like, I hate having that feeling of not talking.’

‘Obviously, we go through ups and downs sometimes, but our relationship is good. When I really started to struggle with my mental health, he really helped me because he’s not very emotional so he kind of gets straight to the point, and I think that’s what helped me in moments of anxiety,’ Lola said, adding she was a ‘hypochondriac’ before finding Jesus and her dad helped her with that.’

Sami admitted it was ‘complicated’ and added fans will get to see some of that dynamic on the show when Charlie makes an appearance in a future episode.
