Aubrey was sporting a 2022 Sundance Film Festival T-shirt – the same year her film Emily the Criminal scored distribution from Roadside Attractions and Vertical Entertainment in Park City, UT.
It’s only been two months since Plaza suffered the ‘unimaginable tragedy’ of her husband Jeff Baena who died, age 47, on January 3 from suicide by hanging at their Los Feliz home.
On Sunday night, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences honored the late filmmaker during their Oscars In Memoriam segment where he was featured between the late filmmaker Roger Corman and casting director Diane Crittenden.
A funeral for Jeff took place on January 10 in his Miami hometown.

Aubrey introduced musical guests Miley Cyrus and Brittany Howard performing a cover of Prince’s 1985 song Nothing Compares 2 U while wearing a top the two-time Sundance Grand Jury Prize nominee had tie-dyed in honor of their 2020 wedding.

The NYU Tisch grads originally met over a game of Balderdash in 2011 while co-starring in Mark Webber’s fatherhood drama The End of Love.
Jeff went on to direct Aubrey in four of his movies – Life After Beth (2014), Joshy (2016), The Little Hours (2017), and Spin Me Round (2022).

On May 25, Aubrey wrapped her role as a ‘mysterious woman’ in Ethan Coen’s Bakerfield-set detective comedy Honey Don’t! for Focus Features alongside Margaret Qualley, Chris Evans, and Charlie Day.
Plaza is also attached to star as con woman Marsha Sprinkle in John Waters’ big-screen adaptation of his 2022 debut novel Liarmouth: A Feel-Bad Romance, which is actively seeking funding.
