Love Island legend is ‘confirmed’ for Celebrity Big Brother after their I’m A Celeb pal lets slip they are going into house

GK Barry appeared to confirm one of this year’s Celebrity Big Brother housemates on Monday ahead of the new series.

ITV fans are convinced that former Love Island star Chris Hughes is going into the famous house after his pal and I’m A Celebrity star Grace let slip that he has signed up.

During the most recent episode of her Saving Grace podcast, Grace, 25, said: ‘I know someone who’s going in.’

Telling her producers to ‘bleep it’, she mouthed the name to her guest Trewley Precious.

Grace continued: ‘He’s a bit of you. He’s a bit dorky, he loves horses racing.’

After shooting to fame on Love Island in 2017, Chris, 32, went on to become a sports presenter and regularly hosts the horse racing coverage on ITV.

Fans rushed to Reddit to claim it was obvious who Grace was talking about and wrote: ‘She’s friends with him and described him as loving horses and a few more things about his personality. 100% him.’

‘She said she knows somebody going into celebrity big brother and she bleeps the name and it’s clearly Chris Hughes.’

Chris’ representatives refused to comment when contacted by MailOnline.

A spokesperson for Celebrity Big Brother said, ‘Any names suggested for Celebrity Big Brother are purely speculation.’

Chris finished third on Love Island in 2017 with his then girlfriend Olivia Attwood, 33, but split seven months after the show ended.

He then began dating former Little Mix star Jesy Nelson, 33.

They broke up after 18 months together, with the first Coronavirus lockdown taking the blame for keeping them apart.

Most recently he was dating professional golfer Annabel Dimmock, 38, but the pair split in 2022.

Last year’s Celebrity Big Brother’s launch episode attracted the biggest audience in over a decade with 3.8m viewers tuning in, seven-day consolidated figures show.

Hosted by AJ Odudu and Will Best, the reality show sees a cast of famous faces enter the iconic Big Brother house, where they embark on the ultimate social experiment by becoming isolated from the outside world.

Leaving luxury behind, the celebrities will take part in nominations and tough tasks with cameras capturing their every move.

A source previously told The Sun: ‘Bosses have been thrilled with how CBB has performed.’

‘They were already looking forward to series two of the civilian series in the autumn and have now added a second series of the CBB to the pot.’

‘The number of viewers watching live has sat solidly above 1million all series which is meaty for a daily show at 9pm…’

It comes after Big Brother ratings slumped to their lowest ever viewership on launch night in November.

For the highly anticipated return of the UK’s first social experiment, only 825,000 people tuned into ITV to watch the live premiere.

The ratings represented less than half of last year’s simulcast launch.

But it was not all bad news, as 25 percent of those viewers were aged 16-34, in line with ITV2’s airing last year.

While it may be the lowest-ever opener in terms of numbers, it is on par with 2023 which was an overnight series average.

It’s a far cry from the 2.5 million viewers the first episode attracted, but that was also simulcast across ITV1.

The 2024 opener was exclusive to ITV2 and ITVX and was not broadcast across ITV1.

People watching on ITVX or on catch-up were not included in the viewership numbers, only those who watched live were considered for the count.
