Rachel Zoe issued an urgent warning to parents over E-bikes after her eldest son was taken to the emergency room following an accident.

The fashion designer, 53, took to her Instagram stories to upload a pH๏τo of Skyler, 14, on Saturday as he rested in a hospital bed and also penned an important message to her 4.7 million followers.

The star shares the teenager as well as Kaius, 11, with her ex-husband Rodger Berman – whom she split from last year in September following 26 years of marriage.

‘For any parent deciding if they should get a f***ing E-BIKE for their child DO NOT,’ Rachel began in the caption. 

She continued with, ‘I DID NOT and I am a hard no but Sky was on one and been in ER for 9 hours.. whoever is being begged by a child to get one a HARD NO.’

It comes five years after Skyler suffered a previous accident when he fell 40 feet from a skit lift back in 2020.

‘This is Sky yesterday in the ER and I will share what happened when I feel more ready,’ she continued.

The mother-of-two called Skyler ‘the bravest boy I’ve ever known’ and emotionally admitted that the incident had left both she and her now-ex ‘shattered.’

However, she expressed her graтιтude at the time ‘for a miracle that Sky is safe and OK.’ 

Not long after, Rachel gave a positive update on social media and revealed that he was near full recovery and is ‘stronger than ever.’ 

She also included a video message from her eldest son where he stated, ‘I am doing pretty well. I could walk, I could run and I could go upside down.

‘Besides that, my neck is a little sore, but I’m doing pretty well. I’m doing pretty good. Thank you, guys, for looking out for me,’ he added.   

In 2021, both Rachel and Rodger recalled the harrowing incident on their Works For Us podcast and he explained how Skyler’s fall occurred due to his inability to jump onto the chair while on the slopes of Aspen, per Today.

Berman and the ski instructor were already on the chair and they grabbed hold of Skyler’s arms so he would not get hit by the chair behind them. 

Berman explained, ‘I distinctly remember turning around and being like, “Stop the lift!” We just kept getting higher…I was just holding our child. It was like literally out of the movies. I was like, “Baby, I got you.”‘ 

The instructor removed one of his skis so he could climb onto the chair to have more room to pull Skyler up – but the two still didn’t have enough leverage to fully lift him. 

They also began to notice that Skyler’s gear had gone up towards his neck – which was preventing him to breathe properly. 

A snowboarder named Luis Yllanes saw the incident taking place and put down a mat close to where he believed Skyler would fall. 

Rodger and the instructor eventually let go of Skyler so he could breathe and have a chance to land onto the mat. 

Berman immediately called Rachel – who was at a H๏τel nearby – to inform her what was happening. When she arrived to the scene, she found her son was in a full body brace.

‘As a parent you have to stay calm, so you can’t make them more scared. Of course, Skyler being Skyler, he was calm and I was mental,’ Zoe expressed.

During the podcast episode, Skyler joined his parents and said, ‘I’m totally fine. I felt like I was going to be okay when I as hanging from the chairlift, because i knew that there was snow and also it looked pretty high.’

He added, ‘It’s just if I landed on any part other than my neck, I didn’t think it would be fatal.’

Skyler then gave a special shout out to Yllanes who had placed the mat down and stated, ‘I think that is part of the reason I was fine. I wasn’t like, fine, but I wasn’t like incredibly hurt or anything like that.’ 

Back in 2022, Rachel gave another update about Skyler and told E! News: ‘He’s great. He’s ready to ski.

‘It’s surreal to me, but he’s great. And I think that’s why they always say kids are resilient – they are. They’re really resilient, a lot more resilient than us.’

The designer also revealed that the incident also altered her outlook when it comes to parenting. ‘Because no day is the same and no day is what you expect it to be.

‘But I think he teaches me every day, and he teaches me to sort of don’t live in fear and don’t be so apprehensive about everything because you’re scared. So, he’s amazing like that. He’s a brave little soldier that one.’

Last year in September,  Zoe took to her Instagram stories to reveal that she and Rodger had gone their separate ways.

In her statement, she wrote: ‘After 33 years together and 26 years married, Rodger and I have come to the mutual decision to end our marriage.

‘We are incredibly proud of the loving family we have created and our countless memories together.

‘Our number one priority has been and will always be our children. We are committed to coparent our boys and to continue to work together within the many businesses we share. We ask for privacy during this time as we navigate this new chapter.’

Last year in September, Zoe took to her Instagram stories to reveal that she and Rodger had gone their separate ways; seen in 2022 in Beverly Hills 

In her statement, she wrote: ‘After 33 years together and 26 years married, Rodger and I have come to the mutual decision to end our marriage’

In conclusion, the star added, ‘With love and graтιтude – Rachel & Rodger.’ 

The former couple first crossed paths when they were both studying at George Washington University back in 1990s – and later said ‘I do’ on Valentine’s Day in 1996. 

Earlier this year in January, Berman was spotted cozying up to a mystery woman four months after his split from Rachel was announced. 

The businessman was seen draping his arm over the woman’s shoulders as they enjoyed a stroll in Studio City.
