Penn Badgley and his wife Domino Kirke just had a major shake-up in their personal storyline—one worthy of a Gossip Girl or You twist. 

The actor, 38, and the British-American singer, 41, revealed they are expecting twins.

‘Babies #3 and #4 coming this Summer! Talk about a PLOT TWIST! Spontaneous twins are beyond magical,’ Kirke shared in an Instagram post on Friday. 

‘We are stunned. We are in awe. Can’t think of anyone else I’d rather be on this ride with @pennbadgley.’

The heartwarming announcement featured a touching pH๏τo of Kirke’s growing baby bump, as Badgley and their 4-year-old son tenderly kissed her belly.

Kirke is already a mother to 15-year-old son Cᴀssius from a previous relationship, making this expanding family all the more joyful.

The announcement comes a few days after Penn opened up about his parenting style – and how he prevents himself from losing his cool with his kids.

In a rare move, the You actor shared more about his family life during a February 21 live taping of the Modern Love podcast at On Air Fest at the Wythe H๏τel, according to People.

During the podcast, he recalled a time that he felt like he was ‘being short’ with his son, revealing that he tried to calm himself down by doing a breathing exercise.

‘It wasn’t helping him because he was already so upset and I stopped and I said, “I’m being impatient with you and you probably don’t like the way that I’m speaking to you, do you?”‘ Badgley said of the moment, according to the outlet.

He explained that he then apologized to his son afterwards. 

Badgley went on to talk about the struggles that come with being a parent, and acknowledged that there can be some ‘tough’ bits of the journey.   

‘Sometimes it can be tough and you can just be over it. And for whatever reason, there’s always going to be the times as a parent… you lose your patience,’ he admitted during the live taping, according to People.

‘For me, it’s just the sheer size of them, being so small, the naivete, the helplessness. I would lose my patience with other people, no doubt, but not [him].’

Badgley, who resides in New York, wed Kirke in February 2017, welcoming their son three years later in August 2020.

The Easy A actor’s comments about parenting come just a few days after a resurfaced clip of his Gossip Girl costar, Blake Lively, saw her talking about how she had ‘poisoned’ the cast against him.

Lively, who played socialite Serena Van Der Woodsen, the love interest of Badgley’s Dan Humphrey, said she was ‘so upset’ at his casting that she set about turning everyone against him.

‘At first I was so upset that they hired him,’ she told Glamour magazine in a resurfaced 2009 interview. ‘I actually poisoned the whole cast against him.’

‘But then they noticed that he wasn’t a jerk and was actually a really nice, charming person.’

She added: ‘Almost immediately I realized that too, but it took me about a week to admit it.’

Currently, Badgley’s ex-lover Lively is embroiled in a sea of legal drama with her It Ends With Us costar, Justin Baldoni

She went on to insist that there was no animosity between the cast on set, claiming, ‘We hang out after filming. We actually look forward to spending time together outside of work.’

Interestingly enough, the two dated from 2007 to 2010, while they played each other’s love interests in the show.

Currently, Badgley’s ex-lover Lively is embroiled in a sea of legal drama with her It Ends With Us costar, Justin Baldoni.

The movie, based off of a book by author Colleen Hoover, premiered this summer in theatres.  

In December, Lively filed a lawsuit against Baldoni, accusing him of Sєxual harᴀssment and launching a smear campaign against her.

She claimed in the lawsuit that Baldoni had entered her trailer while she was topless, showed her graphic video of his wife giving birth, and bit and sucked on her lips during an improvised kissing scene.

He responded by filing a $400 million lawsuit against Lively, and also sued The New York Times for $250 million, claiming it ‘relied almost entirely on Lively’s unverified and self-serving narrative, lifting it nearly verbatim while disregarding an abundance of evidence that contradicted her claims.’

The feud has only grown to be more explosive, as Baldoni released raw footage from the movie set and even a website with documents related to the suit in an attempt to clear his name, and Lively recently subpoenaed cell carriers to look for more receipts in her ongoing legal battle.

Baldoni, Lively and Reynolds have all denied the allegations against them in the lawsuits.
