Jordan Stephens has claimed he was asked to appear in a Star Wars TV show but turned the offer down because bosses asked him to cut off his dreadlocks.

The Rizzle Kicks star, 33, appeared as Corporal Stordan Tonc in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, released in 2016.

He was then asked to reprise his role on the show Andor, a prequel series to Rogue One, but it came with a caveat he didn’t like.

In a TikTok video, Jordan said bosses ask him to cut his dreadlocks which he didn’t want to do because he would only be appearing in one scene.

He said: ‘I was asked to be in a season of Andor, I don’t know which one. My character from Star Wars: Rogue One, he was going to come back. I was like wow, that’s mad exciting. 

‘A week before the shoot, they were like, “can we see what you look like?” I sent them a picture and they were like, “can you cut off your dreadlocks?”

‘This is what they asked me to do, for one scene. Obviously that’s ridiculous. That’s like six years of hair growth, I’m not cutting it off for one scene.’

Jordan said he offered to wear a helmet in the scene as a compromise but bosses didn’t like that idea.

He added: ‘What’s even more funny is I said, why can’t I just wear a helmet like I did in Rogue One and they went, “we don’t think it would be realisitic.” 

‘A reality where we’re fighting slugs with laser guns but wearing a helmet is too far.’

Although Jordan is best known for his music career, he has acted on occasions in shows like Catastrophe, Drunk History and Glue. 

It comes after Jordan shortly enjoyed a safari trip to Kenya with his girlfriend Jade Thirlwall.

Jade took to Instagram to share pictures from their wholesome getaway in the middle of nowhere.

The star showed off her bare face by going natural free and embraced her natural curly locks throughout her trip.

Reflecting on her trip, she wrote previously: ‘Started the year on a safari trip in Kenya and it was the most breathtaking, magical and grounding experience.

‘Anyone who knows me will confirm my undying love for any David Attenborough doc or nature doc in general but seeing this in real life?! I’ll never be over it.

‘I [love] Mother Earth. thank you to all of the beautiful and wonderfully kind people who made our trip unforgettable ♥️ ‘

Jade has been dating the Rizzle Kicks frontman for four years, and in a new interview, she recalled that she first realised he was a keeper when he bought her a pasty from Greggs to lift her spirits.

The hitmaker told The Louis Theroux Podcast that she ‘broke down in tears,’ when she [Jesy Nelson] decided to leave the band, and Jordan’s response was to fetch her a treat from the bakery chain.

She said: ‘We were driving up North to see my family. I just wailed and wailed for an hour or something.

‘We parked up at services and he was like, ”do you want some peace?”. And I was like, ”yes”.’

‘That’s when I knew he was a keeper because he was like, ”are you alright on your own for a little bit?”. I mean, I couldn’t actually speak. So I was screaming.

‘And then he went out into the shops and he came back with a pasty from Greggs and I thought, ”that’s the one”.’
