Blake Lively was seen in the first teaser for Another Simple Favor amid her continued drama with Justin Baldoni
The timing is a publicity nightmare for the movie, which will no doubt be over shadowed by Blake’s ongoing legal drama with her It Ends With Us co-star Baldoni.
Despite the saga – which has seen Lively and Baldoni lampooned on the cover of The Hollywood Reporter – her new movie is still pushing ahead, and is still scheduled to make its debut at the 2025 SXSW Film & TV Festival on March 7.
The sequel to A Simple Favour will begin streaming on Prime Video staring May 1.
Amazon MGM Studios released the trailer via YouTube on Wednesday – and tellingly – the comment sectioned appears to have been turned off by the studio.
This follows a negative fan reaction to the poster from the film, which was flooded by comments poking fun at the legal drama – asking if Blake’s husband Ryan Reynolds had directed the film himself.
Blake stars opposite Anna Kendrick, 39, in the movie, which is directed by Paul Feig.

Another Simple Favor marks her first big screen film amid rising tensions with It Ends With Us co-star Baldoni, after she accused him of Sєxual harᴀssment and of conducting a smear campaign.
Blake is currently in a legal dispute with Baldoni, 40, her former director and co-star.
She has accused him of Sєxual harᴀssment and workplace misconduct, while Justin has denied all allegations and filed a $400m lawsuit against Blake, her husband Ryan Reynolds, 48, and their publicist Leslie Sloane.
This comes after Lively slammed The Hollywood Reporter as ‘Sєxist’.
The actress hit out at the publication after its recent cover image depicted her launching a slingsH๏τ at Baldoni calling the image ‘outrageously insulting’.
A spokesperson for Blake told The Daily Mail: ‘The Hollywood Reporter should be ashamed of itself.
‘The framing in this picture is outrageously insulting as it plays into every Sєxist trope about women who dare file a workplace complaint, turning them into the aggressor, and suggesting they deserve the retaliation that comes their way.’
The Hollywood Reporter’s article explored how Justin’s Baha’i faith may have ‘inadvertently contributed’ to the dispute.

The outlet also referenced Blake’s claim in her California Civil Rights Department complaint that Justin once told her he could speak to her ‘ᴅᴇᴀᴅ father’ and noted this was consistent with past statements he had made about his faith.
The report said: ‘He has also referenced his interest in the afterlife in interviews.’
It also suggested Blake and Justin’s legal battle may stem from a ‘cultural misunderstanding,’ saying: ‘What if much of it — the alleged inappropriate hugging and pre-filming praying — could be explained as a clash between a very specific faith-driven community with its unique mores, and a much more modern, post-#MeToo one with its own set of beliefs and commandments?’
Blake’s spokesperson rejected the characterization, saying: ‘The story is extremely offensive as it incredibly seems to explain away documented examples of Sєxual harᴀssment and retaliation by calling them “cultural misunderstandings.”‘
