BBC finally confirms Ten Pound Poms’ return date as Michelle Keegan dazzles in first look series two trailer

The BBC has confirmed Ten Pound Poms’ return date as Michelle Keegan dazzles in a first look trailer for series two. 

Post-war drama Ten Pound Poms was created by BAFTA award-winning Danny Brocklehurst and is set to return for a second season on March 9.

The popular show follows a group of Brits as they leave the country after World War 2 following the promise of a better life in Australia.

The newly-released trailer for series two, which is set in 1957, shows Michelle Keegan in character as nurse Kate Thorne, wearing her hair in shoulder-length waves.

During the clip she also shares a tender moment with Robbie, played by Nic English, as they rekindle their friendship.  

In the new instalment, Kate embarks on a new stage in her life as she tries to create a solid future for herself Down Under.

The first series saw her journey to Australia, when she searched for her son, Michael. 

Annie, played by Faye Marsay, dives into exciting opportunities, while Terry, portrayed by Warren Brown, wants to lay roots Down Under. 

The trailer also introduces actor Marcus Graham as a new character – landlord Benny Bates.

Michelle shared details of the release in an Instagram story post on Saturday while Warren also shared the snap and wrote ‘Cameras are rolling and we are off! Ten Pound Poms Season 2!’

Delighted fans rushed to the comments to say they ‘can’t wait’ to watch.

The first season of the drama, which is produced by Eleven and co-produced by Stan and the BBC, was loved by fans.

Ten Pound Poms airs on BBC One and can be streamed on BBC iPlayer.
