One of The X Factor’s most iconic moments has become a surprise viral hit, 13 years after it first left viewers in hysterics.
Jahméne Douglas was one of the finalists competing for the big-money recording contract back in 2012, and during the star-studded finale, he was given the chance to perform with his mentor, Nicole Scherzinger.
Things didn’t exactly go to plan as Nicole’s microphone broke down as she took to the stage, forcing her and Jahemene to share one as they belted out Whitney Houston’s Greatest Love.
After figuring out her microphone was not working, Nicole rushed over to Jahmene and took his microphone to continue singing her part, with the two later sharing it to complete the song.
Both stars showed signs of frustration, but continued and delivered the dramatic ballad pitch-perfect.
Despite the fact the two managed to belt out the song without errors, Nicole did seem upset afterwards by the technical gaffe.

Dermot O’Leary declared: ‘This is the biggest show in the UK and we can’t afford two working mics? That’s what a live performance is all about!’
However, Nicole was not impressed, saying: ‘Well it sucks when your mic is not on, but he’s my little angel and to share the stage with him, that’s the reason that I’m here.’
The clip was reposted by meme account Love Of Huns on Facebook, with the тιтle: ‘NEVER forget the chaos of Nicole Scherzinger snatching the mic of Jahmene in the 2012 X Factor final.’
Jahmene went onto finish X Factor as runner-up behind winner James Arthur, and while he originally signed a record deal with Sony Music, he later moved to the independent label MoonsH๏τ Music, releasing his last album in 2016.
While he has shared a string of clips showing his performances on Instagram, his last post was back in 2022.
Back in 2017, Jahmene reflected on his 2012 stint on The X Factor, criticising the ITV talent show for not offering enough support during the contest and its aftermath.
The singer hasdopenly discussed his ongoing battle with depression and explained the show didn’t give the hopefuls the support they needed as they were catapulted into the spotlight.
Speaking to the The Sun, Jahmene claimed there was no care given to any of his fellow acts as they came to terms with their newfound fame.

He told the publication: ‘There’s no care for you, if you aren’t signed to Syco the show just doesn’t… there’s nothing for you after the show.
‘I came from witness protection to being watched by 15 million people a week, and there’s no one talking to you… there’s no therapist on the show, you’re just expected to cope.
Adding: ‘I think it is a problem that needs to be discussed, the mental health of contestants after the show.’
An X Factor spokesperson told MailOnline: ‘The welfare of The X Factor contestants is of utmost importance to the show. Support, including a psychologist if required, is provided throughout the series.’
