Paloma Faith has admitted she feels ‘lonely’ following her split from her ex Leyman Lahcine, after throwing her youngest child a solo birthday bash over the weekend.
The singer, 43, split from the father of her two daughters in 2022 after ten years together, but has since shared she’s in a new relationship
In a candid Instagram post, Paloma shared that she was struggling with juggling her parenting duties after being tasked with organising a party for her youngest daughter.
Posting snaps of decorations from the day, the star said that she was left alone when her daughters left for their ‘father’s house’ just hours after the party finished, describing it as ‘a tragedy one cannot explain.’
She wrote: ‘I threw my youngest a party at the weekend.
‘Joyous screams, jelly and ice cream, balloons popping, hysteria and loud music. And then they left, running off to their father’s house because it was ‘his night.’

‘The house once bursting with energy, now sat still.. Carefree mess, deflated balloons, smeared chocolate on pink velvet chairs.
‘I sat and stared at the wall, full of sugar, wondering if I was fat and ugly now or just tired and old, after being kept awake by excited children the night before. This was a tragedy one cannot explain.
‘The sound, the frenetic energy completely stopped.
‘The promise of other kids screaming outside, hoping it was my own, saying they couldn’t bear to leave and wanted to come back. But it wouldn’t be. It shouldn’t be. They need both parents.
‘So they hugged me on their way out, smiling, saying, ‘Thank you, Mama, for the best party ever.’
‘And then I was there, worn out, glazed, wondering if I should spend the rest of my free time tidying their mess or go and drink three margaritas and smoke roll-ups… This was lonely.’
Paloma recently revealed that she is in a new relationship, admitting that the romance has made her finally consider marriage.
Speaking on Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo’s Newly weds podcast on Monday, Paloma said: ‘This is a strange thing.

‘I wasn’t married to my kids’ dad and I’ve always been someone that’s very anti-marriage, because the history of it is that it’s about ownership of women and I’m the child of a feminist.
‘Weirdly, I don’t know what’s changed in me, but this guy gives me a bit like ‘Oh well’.’
She continued: ‘I remember when I met him I was like “I’m never going to get married, don’t ever ask me”.
‘And then over time now I’m like “Yeah I don’t know, I’ll keep an open mind”. I can just feel myself softening.
‘If my mum hears this she’ll be like “What the hell is going on with you? Is it a mid-life crisis?'”
‘I do think having kids with someone is stronger than marriage from experience.’
However, the star insisted she would only marry her financial equal and would want to ensure her ᴀssets were carefully protected.
Paloma previously shared the reason for her break-up from Lahcine was the pressure of having two daughters.
The couple split in 2022 and welcomed their first daughter in December 2016, followed by their second in February 2021.
Speaking previously to Jamie on his podcast Great Company in November, Paloma opened up about navigating the split as co-parents and her ‘heartbreak album’.
‘I think this is ongoing navigation because we have children together,’ she said.
‘And that’s what makes this a different type of heartbreak album. The heartbreak will be forever and the navigation of our relationship changing shape will be forever, probably until we die.’

Explaining how heartbreak differs when you have children, Paloma said: ‘Some people sort of, you know, just because you don’t see them, some people never speak again.
‘And they’re still very present because you look at your kids and you see that person in your kids or they come back from visiting your ex partner and they’re doing the mannerisms or they’ve got opinions that you don’t agree with it or their opinions or whatever.’
Back in May it was reported that Paloma was once again on the hunt for love and had signed up to the celebrity dating app Raya.
The Sun revealed Paloma had created a five point checklist as she set out the tough criteria her next partner will need to meet.
Paloma is not interested in dating men under 5ft 11ins, mummy’s boys or Tories, and would also rather avoid UGG boot wearers and men who take more than 25 minutes to get ready to go out.
