Netflix has dropped a brand new teaser trailer for its H๏τly-anticipated series five of You on Tuesday. 

In the epic final season, Joe Goldberg returns to New York where he will come face-to-face with the ghosts of his past. 

All ten episodes are set to arrive on the platform on April 24, with fans of the drama set to find out what happened after Joe (Penn Badgley) and Kate (Charlotte Ritchie) left London.

In a new clip, the couple are seen getting dressed in their bedroom, with Joe saying in the voiceover: ‘Love tests us more than most. I’ve been tested more than most. 

‘This is the last time. I came from nothing a true rags to riches story. Unlucky in life and in love. Until I met you, Kate. 

‘We share a life together I could have never imagined. I would have been quick to judge in the past. Rich, douchebags, aristocrats.’

He continues: ‘Using our power for the better to help those who aren’t as lucky.

‘Power. Money. So obscenely rich. Who knew I could become to luckiest guy inn New York.’ 

Speaking to Netflix’s Tudum while filming for the series in July, actor Penn explained: ‘Every season they manage to find new space to make it interesting and relevant. 

‘And this season, I think somehow coming back to where it started allowed for it to just become grounded in the way that it needs to also have this kind of spectacular finish.’

Executive producer Michael Foley added: ‘We always said that we would stop after five and [that], in a perfect world, we would bring Joe back home to New York. 

‘We loved the idea of things coming full circle for him. We’re excited by the fact that Joe came home as such a different person than [who] we saw in Season one. At the core of our final story for Joe is this dicH๏τomy of the old and the new.’ 

Joe is set to be confronted by Kate’s siblings, Teddy Lockwood (Griffin Matthews), and twins Raegan and Maddie Lockwood (both played by Anna Camp). 

Madeline Brewer will star as a new character Bronte, who gets a job at Joe’s bookshop and makes Joe question his new life.

In the fourth season of You, Joe received a taste of his own medicine from a vengeful serial killer as he attempted to keep a low profile under a new idenтιтy.

After killing 10 people over the past three seasons, he was unable to escape his past from the ‘Eat the Rich Killer’ in London.

Following his move to the UK capital, and new life as Professor Jonathan Moore, Joe battled a fresh heartbreak which he ominously called the ‘catalyst for a new path.’

Netflix announced in March 2023 that You would be ending with a fifth and final series.
