Jamie Lee Curtis reveals Colin Farrell gave her COVID while presenting award to him at 2025 SAG Awards

Jamie Lee Curtis revealed Colin Farrell gave her COVID while presenting at the 31st annual Screen Actors Guild Awards.

On Sunday evening, she took the stage to present an award to Farrell, 48, and said that he once got her sick during her speech.

It was at the ceremony in Los Angeles where Farrell won his first SAG Award for best actor in a limited series for his performance in the HBO series, The Penguin.

While announcing the winner, The Last Showgirl star — who walked the star-studded red carpet in a dramatic, black gown covered in feathers — introduced him as ‘the man who gave me COVID at the Golden Globes, Collin Farrell.’

When he took the stage to accept the award, he responded playfully to Curtis’ accusation.

‘Guilty as charged,’ he said while laughing and after giving Curtis, 66, a big hug.

Then, he added that his Banshees of Inisherin costar Brendan Gleeson was the one who ‘f***ing gave it to me.’

He continued: ‘So I was just spreading the love.’

In addition to presenting an award, Curtis is also up for her own.

She was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role award for her role in Gia Coppola’s film The Last Showgirl.

Over two years ago, when Curtis was promoting Everything Everywhere All At Once in January 2023, she confirmed she tested positive for COVID on social media.

As her costars celebrated their movie’s Oscar win, she took to social media to explain why she would not be joining them.

‘Sadly, this head cheerleader is not going to be at all the weekend festivities cheering on her friends and colleagues,’ she said.

‘Life on life’s terms. I look forward to cheering them on through my TV set. Stay safe out there people.’

That same awards season, Farrell earned multiple accolades for his performance in the 2022 movie The Banshees of Inisherin.

He was nominated for an Oscar and also received two SAG nods.

During that time, Farrell and Curtis joined forces in Variety’s Actors on Actors series, which was filmed and published prior to the alleged COVID transfer at the 2023 Golden Globes.

The two stars bonded over their sobriety journeys during the interview in addition to discussing their performances and longstanding acting careers.
