Timothée Chalamet may be the youngest actor to become a two-time Best Actor Oscar nominee since James Dean, but even he has his off days.
While presenting his film A Complete Unknown at the 2025 SAG Awards alongside costars Elle Fanning, Monica Barbaro and Edward Norton, the actor, 29, flubbed his lines as he attempted to read off a teleprompter during the ceremony.
‘As David Lynch once said about Bob Dylan, he tapped into some kind of vein and he keeps on keeping on,’ he began, before taking a long pause.
After staying quiet for a moment, the Dune star, who was seemingly waiting for someone else on stage to speak, hilariously realized it was still his turn to talk.
‘Should’ve done a rehearsal,’ he joked after realizing his mistake, which prompted laughter from Fanning, Barbaro and the rest of the room.
He, then, delivered the rest of the pre-written segment, which described his Bob Dylan biopic as tracing the origin story of the rock and folk music legend ‘back to Greenwich Village.’

The New York native, who is nominated for in the outstanding performance by a male actor in a leading role, opted to bring his mother, Nicole Flender, as his date.
Norton and Barbaro are also up for individual nods for their roles in A Complete Unknown, on top of the cast’s nomination for the whole ensemble.

Chalamet’s girlfriend Kylie Jenner’s absence from the ceremony comes the day it emerged that her hairstylist and longtime friend, Jesus Guerrero, had died at 34.
His sister Gris heartbrokenly announced that she had lost her brother ‘very suddenly and unexpectedly,’ but did not publicly disclose the cause of death.
According to body language expert Judi James, Jenner’s absence appeared to affect Chalamet.
‘Timothée Chalamet appeared to be missing the supportive body language rituals of Kylie, who had been a steady presence at previous award ceremonies – faithfully by his side, clutching his hand, and offering reᴀssuring pats and strokes to boost his confidence,’ the expert – who teamed up with Casino.ca – told DailyMail.com exclusively.
They continued: ‘He initially strode onto the red carpet with the cocky swagger of a gunslinger, his leather Western-style suit reinforcing the image. However, during the cast’s scripted promo for their movie, he missed his cue for the second segment, resulting in an awkward silence and giggles from the other actors.’
Overall, James observed that the actor’s ‘body language subtly shifted in response – what began as a casual, confident stance with one hand slung in his pocket soon changed to a more self-conscious posture, with his hands clasped behind his back.’

Wicked: Part One leads the nominations at this year’s SAG Awards, with five nods to its name including for Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo.
The cast are collectively nominated for what is often regarded as the highest honor of the night at the SAGs – outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture.

Rounding out the best ensemble in a motion picture category is the Spanish-language musical Emilia Perez, featuring Selena Gomez, Zoe Saldana and the controversial leading lady Karla Sofia Gascon.
Presented by SAG-AFTRA, Saturday night’s ceremony is the only awards show during the Hollywood season to exclusively honor actors.
The union’s over 130,000 members voted for the 13 prizes that were scheduled to be handled out Saturday over the course of a two-hour ceremony.
A-list stars galore have scored nominations, including Pamela Anderson for The Last Showgirl, Demi Moore for The Substance and Zoe Saldana for Emilia Perez.
Selena Gomez has two nods – one as part of the ensemble cast of Emilia Perez and one as part of the cast of the sitcom Only Murders In The Building.
Only Murders In The Building is up against The Bear, Hacks, Abbott Elementary and Shrinking for the coveted honor of best ensemble in a comedy series.
Best ensemble in a drama series is another tough category, with Shogun facing off against Bridgerton, Slow Horses and Day Of The Jackal.
Meanwhile, the SAG Life Achievement Award has already been announced as going to Jane Fonda, the 60th recipient of the gong.
SAG-AFTRA president Fran Drescher, best known as the star of the 1990s sitcom The Nanny, praised Jane as a ‘trailblazer and an extraordinary talent.’
She vaunted Jane as ‘a dynamic force who has shaped the landscape of entertainment, advocacy and culture with unwavering pᴀssion.’
This year, the official nomination ceremony for the SAG Awards had to be canceled on account of the devastating Los Angeles fires.
Kristen Bell is hosting the SAG Awards and is also nominated for best actress in a comedy series, against Jean Smart for Hacks, Ayo Edebiri and Liza Colon-Zayas for The Bear and Quinta Brunson for Abbott Elementary.
