Bates, a Hollywood icon, enters this year’s SAG Awards as a double nominee, earning her ninth and tenth career nominations for her performances in the CBS drama Matlock and the Max film The Great Lillian Hall.
In the race for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series, she is up against Nicola Coughlan for Bridgerton, Allison Janney for The Diplomat, Keri Russell for The Diplomat, and Anna Sawai for Shōgun.

Meanwhile, in the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series category, her fellow nominees include Cate Blanchett for Disclaimer, Jodie Foster for True Detective: Night Country, Lily Gladstone for Under the Bridge, Jessica Gunning for Baby Reindeer, and Cristin Milioti for The Penguin.
Bates previously took home SAG trophies in 1997 and 1999 for The Late Shift and Primary Colors, respectively.
The red carpet appearance comes not long after Bates opened up about her weight loss journey and broke her silence on Ozempic speculation.

Over the past seven years, the star dropped a total of 80lbs after focusing on a healthier lifestyle, and lost an additional 20lbs after using Ozempic.
During an interview with People in October, she expressed, ‘There’s been a lot of talk that I just was able to do this because of Ozempic.’
‘But I have to impress upon people out there that this was hard work for me, especially during the pandemic. It’s very hard to say you’ve had enough.’
She was inspired to put her health first after being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes back in 2017.

The annual ceremony, hosted by Nobody Wants This star Kristen Bell, is being streamed live on Netflix for the second year in a row starting at 8 p.m. ET.
It is presented by the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) and is the ‘only televised awards ceremony to exclusively honor actors.’
During the hours-long ceremony, 13 awards will be handed for ‘outstanding performances’ in both film and TV that were decided on by SAG-AFTRA’s 130,000+ members.
According to the official website, the SAG Awards have ‘the largest voting body on the awards circuit.’
Pamela Anderson, Demi Moore, Zoe Saldana and Timothée Chalamet are just some of the A-list stars who snagged nominations at this year’s ceremony.
