A$AP Rocky has landed a major deal with an eyewear company just days after he was found not guilty on all counts in his felony shooting trial. 

The rapper, 36 – who celebrated Rihanna’s 37th birthday this week in Los Angeles – has been named the very first creative director for Ray-Ban. 

With the тιтle, the music artist will run Ray-Ban Studios and design collections, campaigns and reimagine retail store experiences for consumers. 

The star’s first task as the creative director will be to launch the new Blacked Out Collection which will include eyewear with new lens and gold-plated details. 

The line is set to become available in April of this year as the performer – whose real name is Rakim Athelaston Mayers – has the chance to share his own creative vision for the brand, which was founded back in 1936. 

Ray-Ban is known for its iconic Wayfarer and Aviator shades and in a statement, Rocky expressed, ‘I’ve always admired Ray-Ban’s ability to stay true to its roots while constantly evolving,’ per Billboard.

‘I’m excited to be part of the strong heritage and develop the next chapter for an iconic brand like Ray-Ban.’ 

The president of the brand Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio also stated, ‘Today, we are welcoming A$AP Rocky into our family; he’s a visionary artist and creator. 

‘His ability to push the boundaries of the diverse worlds he explores, aligns with the Ray-Ban DNA. We are reinforcing the brand’s values of innovation, pioneering spirit, and courage. Let the future begin!’ 

The rapper is no stranger to the company and last year in June, he utilized some of the eyewear while making his Paris Fashion Week debut. 

At the time, he showed off his American Sabotage collection under the AWGE collective that he co-founded. 

Rocky joined the models as while walking the runway and they additionally sported both new and archival Ray-Ban glᴀsses, according to Nylon.  

The latest business venture comes after the music artist was found not guilty on two felony counts of ᴀssault with a semiautomatic firearm against A$AP Relli earlier this week on Tuesday.

When the not guilty verdict was revealed, his partner Rihanna – who had been sitting inside the courtroom – erupted into tears as cheers echoed around.

He sent his graтιтude towards the jury before leaving the courtroom and expressed, ‘Thanks y’all for saving my life.’ Both he and Rihanna later celebrated the shock verdict with dinner in Beverly Hills.

Later on Tuesday, the mother-of-two broke her silence and shared a message to her Instagram stories which read: ‘The glory belongs to God and to God alone. Thankful, humbled by His mercy.’ 

And the real reason why Rihanna attended the trial was later revealed – despite both her partner and prosecutors initially objecting. 

Rocky’s lawyer Joe Tacopina explained outside the courthouse in L.A. on Tuesday that the music artist ‘was very protective of’ the songstress. 

‘He didn’t want her there … I was sort of supporting his decision to keep her away – the trial is not about Rihanna.’ 

However, the star still made an appearance multiple times throughout the criminal case to support her partner – whom she was confirmed to be dating in 2021. The couple share two sons, RZA two, and Riot, one. 

‘She called me one day and she said, “You know, Joe, wild horses aren’t gonna keep me away,”‘ the attorney stated.

‘After the verdict, her emotions came to the forefront, crying, hugging Rocky, hugging me, hugging Rocky’s family. 

‘With me, she could not have been more appreciative of the work we were doing and was always gracious,’ the lawyer stated. 

In regards to the Love On The Brain hitmaker, he said, ‘I have gotten to know Rihanna over the last three years and I have to tell you she is one of the nicest, most genuine, most real, superstars ever.’

The couple were spotted grabbing a bite to eat at The Nice Guy Italian restaurant in West Hollywood.

She exuded business chic wearing a tan blazer as well as a pair of black trousers and a white ʙuттoned shirt. 

The performer completed the look by slipping into closed-toed, black pumps and added a burgundy-colored tie.   

Rocky was dressed for the occasion in a light gray blazer and dark gray slacks which were layered with a stylish trench coat.
