More presenters for the 2025 Academy Awards were announced on Wednesday.
Selena Gomez will be hitting the red carpet at the splashiest event of the year in Hollywood even though she was snubbed in the Best Supporting Actress category for her work in Emilia Perez (though her song Mi Camino was recognized).
Her costars Zoe Saldana and Karla Sofia Gascon were nominated instead.
Zoe looks set to win, but Karla is likely very much out of the running after she was criticized for past racist tweets, even though she apologized for them.
Only Murders In The Building actress Gomez will likely have her new fiance Benny Blanco by her side.
The two got engaged earlier this year and have already ‘purchased’ a $35M Beverly Hills mansion together, it has been claimed.
Other presenters that will hit the Oscars include Ana de Armas, Lily-Rose Depp, Goldie Hawn, Connie Nielsen, Ben Stiller, Joe Alwyn, Sterling K. Brown, Willem Dafoe and Oprah Winfrey.
Nick Offerman will serve as the announcer for this year’s show.

Also on the list are Whoopi Goldberg, John Lithgow, Amy Poehler, June Squibb and Bowen Yang.
Last year’s acting award winners will return to the Oscars stage to present awards this year.
2024′s Best Supporting Actor Robert Downey Jr (Oppenheimer), Best Supporting Actress Da’Vine Joy Randolph (The Holdovers), Best Actress Emma Stone (Poor Things) and Best Actor Cillian Murphy (Oppenheimer) were the first four presenters announced for the 2025 ceremony.
The show takes place at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on March 2 with host Conan O’Brien.
The nominations for the Academy Awards were announced on January 23.
Some very big names were left off the list, shocking fans.
The top one was Gomez, who had the role of a Mexican drug lord’s unhinged wife who acts in desperation after she believes her spouse died. Gomez’s song Mi Camino was nominated, however.
Instead, her co-star Zoe Saldana was nominated for her part as a lawyer who helps a man turn into a woman. And Karla Sofía Gascón, the lead, was also nominated.
Angelina Jolie was not nominated for playing opera singer Maria Callas in Maria though she was on a good awards streak before this with a Golden Globe nomination.

And Zendaya was not recognized for her performance in the tennis film Challengers.

Also ignored was Stanley Tucci who was overlooked in the Best Supporting Actor for his powerful performance in Conclave.
Edward Berger was shut out for directing Conclave.
Margaret Qualley did not land in the Best Supporting Actress category for The Substance but her co-star Demi Moore was nominated for Best Actress.
Dune filmmaker Denis Villeneuve was not given a nomination for Dune: Part II.
Daniel Craig had a strong campaign for his role in Luca Guadagnino’s adaptation of the William S. Burroughs work Queer, but he was not singled out on Thursday.
Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross’ soundtrack for Challengers was pᴀssed over.
The nominations were originally set to be announced on January 17, but voting was extended by a week due to the LA fires.

Hollywood´s awards season all but came to a halt as the wildfires disrupted life and work in the Los Angeles area. There were near-daily updates from the Hollywood guilds and organizations that put on awards shows as the industry navigates the crisis and fallout.
But as of now, here´s the dates of major upcoming awards shows, from the Oscars to the Grammys.
The enormity of the destruction in Southern California quickly snuffed out all festivity in the movie industry´s high season of celebration.
The fires have struck at the very heart of a movie industry still trying to stabilize itself after years of pandemic, labor turmoil and technological upheaval. Not for the first time this decade, the Oscars are facing the question of: Should the show go on? And if it does, what do they mean now?
The Oscars remain as scheduled, but it´s certain that they will be transformed due to the wildfires, and that most of the red-carpet pomp that typically stretches between now and then will be curtailed if not altogether canceled. With so many left without a home by the fires, there´s scant appeтιтe for the usual self-congratulatory parades of the season.
Focus has turned, instead, to what the Oscars might symbolize for a traumatized Los Angeles. The Oscars have never meant less, but, at the same time, they might be more important than ever as a beacon of perseverance for the reeling movie capital.
Hosted earlier this month, two wildly audacious films – Brady Corbet´s 215-minute postwar epic ‘The Brutalist’ and Jacques Audiard´s Spanish language, genre-shifting musical ‘Emilia Perez’ – won top honors at the 82nd Golden Globes.
‘The Brutalist’ was crowned best film, drama, putting one of 2024´s most ambitious films on course to be a major contender at the Academy Awards. The film, sH๏τ in VistaVision and released with an intermission, also won best director for Corbet and best actor for Adrien Brody. In his acceptance speech, Corbet spoke about filmmakers needing approval on the final cut.
‘Emilia Pérez’ won best film, comedy or musical, elevating the Oscar chances of Netflix´s top contender. It also won best supporting actress for Saldaña, best song (‘El Mal’) and best non-English language film.
