Love Island fans have branded Curtis Pritchard’s brother AJ ‘fake,’ accusing him of quickly changing his tune on Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu after previously calling for her ‘removal’ from the villa following a fiery argument. 

In the latest instalment, the boys received video calls from home, and Curtis, 29, got the chance to catch up with his older brother, AJ, 30. 

Earlier this month, it seemed AJ wasn’t too fond of Ekin-Su as he discussed the couples fiery argument in a Q&A with fans on Instagram. 

However, it appears he has since changed his opinion, as he told Curtis that he and the rest of the family are ‘loving watching their relationship grow.’ 

At the beginning of the catch-up, AJ said: ‘Everybody’s so happy that you’re with Ekin from the outside. Mum absolutely loves her. She’s a strong, independent woman.’

Visibly pleased, Curtis responded: ‘So, you think we’re good?’

AJ smiled and replied: ‘100 percent. It’s really nice to see you actually grow as a couple.’ 

Curtis revealed: ‘We’re in a very, very good place. I wanted to ask her to be my girlfriend and stuff, but I just thought, I don’t know if it’s the right place to do it or not, so I thought maybe I’ll wait till the outside.’ 

AJ then urged his brother to take things to the next level: ‘We’re loving watching your relationship grow. Take it to the next level, do a date. We want to see that.’ 

Curtis gushed: ‘I’ve really enjoyed it in here. We’ve had the ups and downs and odd hard week, don’t get me wrong, but I want to experience the real world with Ekin. I want to introduce her into the family now. I feel like I’m ready.’ 

However, the sweet interaction didn’t sit well with fans, who flocked to X (formerly Twitter) to call out AJ for quickly changing his opinion on Ekin-Su. 

One fan wrote: ‘Didn’t AJ cry about Ekin spilling her drink near Curtis?’; ‘Didn’t his brother want Ekin out.’ 

‘AJ is so fake because wasn’t he just cussing Ekin out not too long ago?’; ‘AJ is such a liar was on stories calling Ekin to get out.’ 

In dramatic scenes earlier this month, Ekin-Su angrily hurled her drink at Curtis, branding him a ‘liar’ and declaring that she was ‘done’ with their relationship. 

However, it appears he has since changed his opinion, as he told Curtis that he and the rest of the family are ‘loving watching their relationship grow’

And during a Q&A on his Instagram Stories, AJ shared his thoughts on the interaction while with his girlfriend Zara Zoffany. 

When asked for his opinion, the dancer stated: ‘If it was a guy doing that to a girl, they’d probably be removed from the show. It wasn’t on his face, it was on his legs.’

His influencer girlfriend chimed in: ‘No, no, she missed, so that was really lucky for her.’

AJ continued: ‘But certain actions, like that, are childish. Whatever heated debate or argument you’re having, it’s bad.’ 

Zara added: ‘We might agree to disagree. I think if it had hit him, it would’ve been bad, but because it was on his legs on the floor and shoes.’ 

Ekin-Su has not had the easiest time on the show after Curtis showed interest in bombshell Danielle Sellers.

Despite the couple patching things up after an explosive argument, and Curtis saying that his ‘priority’ is Ekin-Su, things were not helped when Danielle stole him in the recoupling.

And in the aftermath of losing her villa partner, Ekin-Su let rip at the dancer after he admitted he ‘led her on’ and ‘was not completely honest’ about wanting to get to know Danielle.

Things came to a head in a very theatrical moment which saw Ekin-Su call quits on their relationship and storm away from the conversation in anger.

Curtis told the former Love Island winner: ‘I feel like I’ve not been a thousand percent honest with you…I do really like you. I didn’t expect someone to come in and confuse the situation slightly.’

‘In hindsight it makes me think I should have never ever said we were closed off, so that’s the first apology that i want to say to you. I felt like I said that too early and I didn’t realise that until this situation.’

He added: ‘I’m sorry for lying to you about saying that.’

However, unimpressed, Ekin-Su declared: ‘Too f****** late Curtis. The one thing I’ve been is loyal since day one, since I walked in here. My head hasn’t swayed, I knew exactly what I wanted.’

‘I was vulnerable with you. I gave everything to you. I let my guard down, I made myself look like an idiot, cried.’

She shouted: ‘I don’t want nothing to do with you anymore. I don’t want nothing to do with you, I wish you all the best with Danielle. Everything we had, all the memories, I’m gonna try and delete out of my head.’

‘I feel like I’ve been played. I feel like I’ve been mugged off completely. I feel like everything you said was just a lie.’

Trying to defend himself, Curtis explained: ‘The whole thing with Danielle coming in has caught me off-guard. It has.’

He told her: I felt confused and pressured,’ to which she insisted: ‘Stop leading me on, be honest’.

‘Okay I led you on towards the end,’ he admitted, ‘the last thing I said I was gonna tell Danielle it was finished – everything else I have not led you on.’

Things took an even more dramatic turn when Ekin-Su exclaimed: ‘B******t. I know what loyalty is, I know what being honest is and you f****** don’t so f*** you Curtis!’

She then threw the remains of her drink towards him and stormed away in anger, leaving the other Islanders in shock.
