General Hospital star Leslie Charleson’s died of blunt head trauma, it’s been revealed one month after her death.

The longtime soap opera actress pᴀssed away on January 12 at the age of 79.

She succumbed to ‘sequelae of blunt head trauma’ from an injury she suffered long before her death, according to documents reviewed by TMZ.

It’s unknown exactly when she hurt her head, but the Charleson had multiple falls in recent years that kept her from working on the long-running television series. 

The LA County medical examiner also listed Leslie had a history of asthma, arthritis, atrial fibrillation, and normal pressure hydrocephalus.

The actress played Monica Quartermaine on the ABC series beginning in 1977.

Her death last month was announced on the General Hospital Instagram account, with executive producer Frank Valentini confirming the news.

‘It is with a heavy heart that I announce the pᴀssing of my dear friend and colleague, Leslie Charleson,’ the statement read.

It was added that her ‘enduring legacy has spanned nearly 50 years on General Hospital alone and, just as Monica was the heart of the Quartermaines, Leslie was a beloved matriarch of the entire cast and crew.’

The heartfelt note continued, ‘I will miss our daily chats, her quick wit and incredible presence on set.’

Frank ended the message: ‘On behalf of everyone at General Hospital, my heartfelt sympathy goes out to her loved ones during this difficult time.’

Social media users and fans took to the comments to share their thoughts as they mourned together.

One fan wrote, ‘Rest in Peace! Leslie Charleson will always be Monica Quartermaine,’ while another shared, ‘Incredibly sad. a truly special character on the show. She was amazing.’
