Daisy Edgar-Jones is joining forces with EE and BAFTA as part of a new campaign to inspire the next generation of filmmakers.
Set The Stage gives teenagers the chance to write, direct and produce a short film which will premiere in 2026, under the guidance of a crew of BAFTA award-winning industry experts.
15 –17 year-olds interested in filmmaking can apply for a place in the crew to create this unique short film under the mentorship of experts across storytelling, production and direction including Normal People star Daisy.
To coincide with the launch, recent research commissioned by EE has revealed a generational divide on career perceptions, showing a disconnect between parents and teens, which EE and BAFTA hope to bridge.
The project is also supported by Broadcaster and BAFTA Fellow, Baroness Dame Floella Benjamin, who advocates for youth opportunities and demonstrates how teenage curiosity can lead to fulfilling careers.
Baroness Floella Benajmin commented: ‘The definition of what highlights a successful career is evolving and very personal. EE and BAFTA are highlighting many new roles emerging for young people.

‘Growing up with phones isn’t easy, but when teens are consuming social content, playing video games and exploring the arts, they gain many creative skills.’
‘These activities open a window into the future possibilities. It’s important to connect these skills to future opportunities and encourage the next generation to explore their interests in filmmaking.’
The EE BAFTA 2025 Awards will take place in London on Sunday night to celebrate the year’s best films and the creative talent who bring them to life.
