Additionally, Germann is seeking to split the home they share 50/50. However, he reportedly stated all their other belongings are separate property that will be fully owned by either himself or Champlin.
The Houston-born actor played Richard Fish, co-owner of the Cage & Fish law firm, on the legal series Ally McBeal from 1997 to 2002.
In 1999, Germann and the Ally McBeal cast won the SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.
‘I’ve heard that this is my breakout part,’ he told Entertainment Weekly in 1998 of the role.
While the publication noted the series was considered a ‘chick show’, Germann noted the show wouldn’t be described a ‘guy’s show’ if the cast was dominated by men and had a male lead.
‘If you had that many men [in the cast] and it was called Billy McNeal, people wouldn’t say it was a guy’s show,’ he said.
Germann has enjoyed an illustrious TV career, with guest appearances on the likes of Desperate Housewives, CSI and Curb Your Enthusiasm starring Larry David.
One of his more notable roles was that of Dr. Tom Koracick on Grey’s Anatomy. He played Koracick from 2017 to 2023.
