Priscilla Presley has revealed the one issue she had with Sofia Coppola’s 2023 film about her marriage to Elvis Presley, Priscilla.
Presley’s marriage to the late King was the subject of the 2023 film directed by Coppola, starring Jacob Elordi as her ex-spouse and Cailee Spaeny playing the тιтular Priscilla.
The film was based on Priscilla’s memoir, Elvis and Me, which was released in 1985, 12 years after ending her marriage to the rocker.
While Priscilla, 79, was moved to have her story told by Coppola, she said she there was one inaccuracy plaguing the film – the way her split from Elvis was depicted.
‘The only thing was the ending. I wasn’t really happy about the ending,’ she said. ‘It didn’t end that way, and we ended — Elvis and I ended very lovingly,’ she said during a panel appearance at MegaCon Orlando this past Friday, according to People.
Presley said she remained close friends with her ex following their split, with the rockstar even making ‘unannounced’ visits to her home.

‘We still we kept our relationship. We did. He would drop by my home unannounced, and I was going with someone by the way, and he would come unannounced,’ she said.
‘Thank God it was two o’clock in the morning, and I knew who it was, so I quickly tried to get to the door before he rang the doorbell, and of course he came in, we went in the kitchen, we talked for a couple of hours.’

Priscilla also revealed she learned about her then-husband’s infidelity after reading fan mail sent that was sent to their Palm Springs home by other women.
‘A lot of it was like, “Oh Elvis, thank you for the invite. Charlie Hodge [Elvis’ best friend and confidante] asked me to come up and I’m so glad you, you know, you greeted me and my girlfriends,”‘ she said some of the mail she read through.
But others were more direct. ”Elvis, I had the best night with you. Thank you so much,”‘ Priscilla recalled. ‘Hello, it’s getting worse,’ she recalled thinking as she went through the letters.
Presley said she was ‘quite honored’ that her love story would be given the big screen treatment by Coppola.
She said the filmmaker, who is the daughter of filmmaker icon Francis Ford Coppola, called to give her the head’s up about the movie, ᴀssuring her ‘not to worry’ about the film.
However Presley, a fan of Coppola, said she ‘wouldn’t’ have worried anyways. ‘I love her work,’ she stated.
