Kelsea Ballerini postpones multiple tour dates after abruptly ending Buffalo concert due to illness

Kelsea Ballerini has rescheduled three concert dates after abruptly ending her show on Thursday night in Buffalo, New York due to illness.

Despite initially trying to push through her health issues, the country star, 31, was forced to hit the brakes on her performance after just five songs.

After the Grammy nominee exited the stage, a member of her crew broke the news to  the crowd that Ballerini was unfortunately ‘too sick’ to ‘finish the show tonight.’

‘I do not know much beyond that. We are going to look at options and you will be receiving emails. Beyond that, there is not much that I can say right now,’ he told fans.

Ballerini quickly took to social media to apologize and thank her followers for their ‘grace’ at this time.

‘Buffalo, I am so so sorry that I could not finish the show tonight,’ she said in a video, uploaded to her Instagram Story. ‘I am sicker than I’m trying to be, and I did not want to let anyone down tonight, and I just got through the first few songs and I couldn’t do it. And I am so sorry, but I never want to give you a half-a** show.’

She continued: ‘We are rescheduling tonight, Buffalo, tomorrow, Pittsburgh, and the next day, Toronto, to the end of the tour and I will make them the best shows I’ve ever played in my whole life, and I will pull out every stop for you, and I will make it so worth it.’

‘I’m going to go rest now, and get better, so I can really show up for the rest of this tour, and I hope you understand, and thank you for the grace to be human and I love you,’ Ballerini concluded.

Following the post, she shared a selfie of herself cuddling up to a dog pillow, which looked like her goldendoodle  Dibs, given to her by a fan as she focused on recovering.

‘I can’t even tell you how much I needed this and what it means,’ she captioned the picture.

Before pulling the plug on her Buffalo show, she admitted the day before that she ‘took enough DayQuil and Nyquil to like tranquilize a horse.’

The rescheduled concert will take place on April 11 in Buffalo while her Pittsburgh show has been to April 12 and her gig in Toronto was pushed back to April 13.

Earlier on Thursday, she tweeted that she was ‘feeling better’ and got ‘some good rest.’

‘(WOW I FORGOT HOW MUCH I LOVE SLEEP) and the meds are doing their job and I can’t wait to perform for you tonight,’ she wrote. ‘My voice is still a little raspy, but we’re gonna lean in (like the Phoebe Sєxy voice) and I will see you on that stage. no way I’m letting you down.’

Earlier this month, Ballerini struggled to get through her show in Detroit, according to Taste of Country.

During the show, she seemingly lost her voice while singing Penthouse.

Afterward, she thanked her fans for ‘helping’ her get through her show and ‘being so loud and kind.’

In addition to navigating her own health issues, Ballerini revealed, last year, that her beloved pup, Dibs, was diagnosed with cancer.

In August, she confirmed that Dibs has ‘inoperable cancer in his heart’ and is on medication to keep him ‘comfortable.’

Dibs is not only one of her cherished four-legged family members, it’s also the name of a hit song that first appeared on Ballerini’s 2014 self-тιтled EP.

The Peter Pan hitmaker also replaced Gwen Stefani as new judge on The Voice this season, alongside Michael Bublé, John Legend, and Adam Levine.

Over her career, the singer has won multiple awards, been nominated for Grammys, and toured with other major artists.
