Beyoncé gave Shaboozey one piece of advice during Cowboy Carter collaboration

Beyoncé collaborated with Shaboozey on two songs featured on her latest Grammy-winning album, Cowboy Carter.

And now, the 29-year-old A Bar Song (Tipsy) hitmaker has dished on what advice the veteran entertainer, 43, gave him during the recording process.

Speaking with People, Shaboozey, real name Collins Chibueze, shared that her best nugget of wisdom was to ‘just be yourself.’

He explained, ‘When I was recording the songs on her album, [I was like], “Oh man, I can’t do these runs,” or “I am nowhere near the vocalist, performer or anything Beyoncé is.” And I kind of got in my head about that.’

Shaboozey added about the Renaissance artist and her team: ‘What they told me was, “Hey, we brought you here for you to do you, for you to be yourself. Just be confident in the fact that you are different, you are unique and that’s what people are going to resonate with.”‘

Following the success of her latest full-length album, Beyoncé announced an upcoming tour earlier this week.

The singing sensation used social media to reveal limited information about the imminent tour with her millions of fans.

Initially she uploaded a brief clip of a blinking sign that read, ‘Cowboy Carter Tour,’ in illuminated capital letters.

In a follow-up post, the star shared a headsH๏τ showing her in long, white-blond braids and bold red lipstick, along with the words ‘Cowboy Carter tour.’

A third announcement revealed the name of the forthcoming show, which the music artist is calling, ‘Cowboy Carter and the Rodeo Chitlin’ Circuit Tour.’

Beyoncé had a big night at the 2025 Grammy Awards on Sunday as she took home the coveted Album of the Year award for Cowboy Carter.

It came after her husband Jay-Z, 55, famously called out the Grammys in 2024 for never having given her the award, despite her breaking a record as the most-nominated artist in history.

The former Destiny’s Child frontwoman has also won more Grammys than any other artist.

During her acceptance speech, Beyonce was visibly shocked by her win.

‘Oh, my god. Wow. I really was not expecting this. I want to thank god that I am able to still do what I love after so many years,’ she said incredulously.

The mother-of-three added, ‘I would like to thank all of the incredible country artists that accepted this album. We worked so hard on it.’

‘I think sometimes “genre” is a cold word to keep us in our place as artists, and I just want to encourage people to do what they’re pᴀssionate about. And to stay persistent,’ she noted amid the controversy around her genre-bending collection of songs.

The Houston-bred star continued, ‘I’d like to thank my beautiful family. All of the artists that were collaborators. Thank you. This wouldn’t have been this album without you. I’d like to thank god, again, and my fans. I still am in shock, so thank you so much for this honor.’

Earlier in the evening, Beyoncé and Miley Cyrus won the Grammy for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for their song II Most Wanted.
