Todd Chrisley and is wife Julie Chrisley are hoping President Trump will grant them a pardon.

During an interview with TMZ, his lawyer Jay Surgent revealed Chrisley’s wishes for clemency along with the the alleged poor treatment he has been subjected to behind bars, including his MAGA sticker allegedly being removed from his cell by a guard. 

Chrisley, 55, was convicted on federal charges of tax evasion and bank fraud in June 2022 alongside wife Julie, 52.

‘Todd and his wife would like to be considered for pardon, but it will be up to President Trump to review their cases. Todd has faith he will be given due consideration, because he feels that he never received consтιтutional protections in a fair criminal justice system,’ Surgent told TMZ. 

Surgent said he had a lengthy conversation with his client Tuesday, during which Chrisley opened up about about the alleged poor treatment he had been enduring at FPC Penascola, the prison he has been serving a 12 year sentence for tax evasion and bank fraud.

Chrisley, however, is now moving to another prison as FPC Penascola is shutting down.

During their conversation, Chrisley alleged a MAGA sticker he had placed onto a chair inside his cell was recently ripped off by a prison guard.

Chrisley claims he didn’t say anything as the guard removed the sticker over fear of further retaliation.

While Surgent alleges there are other inmates who also have stickers on their chairs in their cells, Todd was the only person to have his taken away.

Chrisley suspects the guards have it out for him due to his support for Trump.

The former reality star – whose daughter Savannah is also a Trump fan and brought up her parents’ legal plight during her speech at the 2024 Republican National Convention – also claimed to his attorney that his cell is regularly ‘shaken down’ by guards. 

Chrisley claims his mattress has been flipped over by guards, and that guards have also thrown his books onto the floor and searched through his clothing.

In one instance, a guard allegedly poured a Pepsi onto his bed.

Surgent believes all of the alleged poor treatment is because of the negative attention Todd brought towards the alleged prison conditions.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons declined to provide comment on Todd’s claims to TMZ however said they are ‘committed to ensuring the safety and security of the individuals in our custody, our employees, and the public.’

‘Allegations of misconduct are thoroughly investigated and appropriate action is taken if such allegations are proven true, including the possibility of referral for criminal prosecution when appropriate,’ they added.

Todd and Julie were indicted on charges of tax evasion and conspiracy to commit bank fraud in August 2019.

Prosecutors alleged that they submitted falsified financial documents to secure millions of dollars in loans. The couple were found guilty of defrauding community banks out of more than $30 million.

Julie is currently serving seven years in prison and her appeal for a shorter sentence was denied in September 2024.

A federal judge refused to hand the disgraced TV star a more lenient sentence, and declared it ‘will not change’ despite her appeal.
