More than a year after announcing their shock separation, Kyle Richards and her estranged husband Mauricio Umansky are now having ‘conversations’ about putting their shared family home on the market.
On the latest after show segment of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Kyle, 56, revealed she and Mauricio, 54, have been having ‘conversations’ about the fate of their residence.
The former couple go back and forth about what to do with the residence, as they contemplate either selling it or keeping it due to it’s sentimental value.
She also admitted they have yet to file divorce papers, more than a year after announcing their separation after 27 years of marriage.
‘We still have not filed for divorce or anything but I think, you know, we have had more conversations about like, “What should we do, should I still live where I’m living, should we sell the house and each go buy two new homes, or do we keep the house because it is such a special property and just each go our different ways.”
Kyle said these conversations about the future of their property were new additions to their on-going post-split conversations.

‘I don’t think there is a blueprint for exactly how this has to be done,’ she continued.

‘I find myself being oddly protective and defensive of him because people want to say things about him, thinking it would make me happy. And I’m like, “You don’t know how we work, we’re good.”
While addressing getting emotional while meeting her ex Mauricio at a gun range, she said: ‘I remember feeling really self conscious that day because I was so emotional and because we aren’t living together anymore, and I didn’t want it to be like, “Oh let’s go to the gun range” and all of the sudden here I am, crying.”‘
‘I kind of want to give off that I’m a little stronger than that right now, so I felt a little embarrᴀssed. I mean, with all things considering, you know, we get along really well. We love and respect each other, we talk all the time, we want the best for each other.
‘We spent Christmas together with the girls and, you know, if you were a fly on a wall, you would see that it was, you know, making dinner, watching movies, playing games, doing karaoke.
‘I feel very grateful that we are able to work through our separation like this. It’s not just for our daughters. Obviously, they’re the main reason but we genuinely care about each other. There’s no animosity.’

When asked if she felt their close friendship would hinder her from moving on, she admitted it has been difficult to ‘cut that cord.’
‘I’m so grateful that Mau and I have gotten along so well throughout all of this and that we love each other so much, it’s also confusing and complicates it sometimes. Like I look at other people … like, ‘Oh we’re separated, we’re fighting like crazy, boom, done, divorce, finish.
‘And that’s just not the case with us. Sometimes I think, “Would it be better if it was more black and white,” but it’s just different things work for different people. Obviously we have lived together for more than half of our lives and it’s hard to just cut that cord I think.’
