Singer and actress Kate Robbins sweetly added: ‘Oh you’re gonna love this time of your lives ….❤️❤️’ and EastEnders star Heather Peace commented: ‘Wonderful ❤️’.

The actress and the rocker had already been together for a decade when they finally said ‘I do’.

They chose to walk down the aisle together on their big day, with Sally explaining to Hello! magazine at the time: ‘The person who looks after me the most in the world is Steve so it would seem daft if we didn’t walk up the aisle together.

‘It was also really important to me that we walked down as a family.’

She added that she had never envisioned herself getting married or having children until she met Steve, whose career includes a stint on drums with Paul Weller’s band The Style Council.

She admitted: ‘Some girls have been planning their wedding day since they were six, but I was never one of them.

‘And to be honest, I never thought I’d have kids. Because of the career I’d chosen, I never thought it would be possible.

‘And then I met Steve. I wanted to get married and have children with him. It was the man I met who changed everything for me, not the fantasy.’

The Madame Blanc Mysteries star later discovered she was pregnant while in the early stages of work for Scott & Bailey and Mount Pleasant in 2010.

As a result she ultimately had to drop out of the role of Detective Constable Janet Scott and was replaced with Lesley Sharp, while she took on the recurring role of Alison, the sister of Surrane Jones’ Rachel Bailey.

Speaking in 2019, she admitted she ‘couldn’t believe it’ when she fell pregnant, but while she hadn’t thought she’d become a mum, having her sons ‘changed her life’.

Sally told The Mirror: ‘I thought it was made up, you know, that urge that you desperately want to procreate.

‘I’ve got loads of extremely successful single women mates with mᴀssively full lives, and I thought that would have been me.’

Voicing her love for her two kids, she gushed: ‘I would die for those boys.’

While she has opened up on juggling work and parenting, saying she feels that working away has helped her appreciate the time she gets with her sons.

She told Brood magazine: ‘I don’t want to miss out on them growing up, I mean they’ll be adults before I know it!”

‘We have had so many wonderful times together as a family. I think that’s the thing especially in our types of careers, yes, you do work a lot at times, but you also get chunks of time off.

‘I found that the key really is to use those times wisely, so in a way it’s quality, not so much about quanтιтy.

‘I know everything about my children and I feel very close to them – even now as they approach the teenage years, and yes, of course they missed me whilst I was away, but they are very independent because of it as well and I think that’s a good thing.’

Last year, Sally revealed that working away from each other was also the secret to keeping the spark alive in her longstanding romance with Steve.

She told Prima: ‘Steve and I have been together 20 years and married for 10. Working away a lot is what keeps the spark in our marriage – I genuinely believe that. We always have loads to talk about.

‘Steve is the head of music on my shows. He’ll ask me what I want and I’ll come up with the most obscure, ridiculous references, but he’ll know what I mean because he’s my husband.

‘He has a vast musical knowledge. He’s a brilliant man; he’s lovely and he’s Sєxy and he’s funny – and a rock star, which helps! He’s also the best dad.’
