One of the producers of the Grammy Awards has weighed into the controversy surrounding Kanye West and Bianca Censori’s naked outfit stunt on Sunday.

The rapper, 47, and the Australian architect, 30, caused a stir on the red carpet when Bianca removed her coat to reveal a completely see-through mesh dress worn without underwear.

The incident caused worldwide backlash, with many people calling for Kanye – who reportedly lost a $20million deal following the stunt – and his wife to be banned from future events and even face legal consequences for public indecency.

However, Grammys executive producer Raj Kapoor has now said it’s not clear that the couple broke any rules with their X-rated stunt, claiming the dress code is ‘up for interpretation’.

Speaking to PEOPLE, he explained that the Grammys’ official dress code is ‘artistic black-tie’, but then added: ‘But in the music industry, I guess that’s up for interpretation.’

Raj further clarified: ‘Obviously there is a dress code for anybody actually performing on the show that we have to adhere to standards and practices.

‘But as far as people attending and nominees attending, that would be something the [Recording] Academy would have to answer.’

ᴅᴇᴀᴅline previously reported that the Grammys have to follow the CBS Program Practices which stated in an advisory that ‘ʙuттocks and female breasts’ should be ‘adequately covered’ and sheer clothing that ‘could possibly expose female breast nipples’ must be avoided.

It follows speculation that Kanye and Bianca were asked to leave the event over fears that CBS – the network which aired the live broadcast – could face fines and reprimands from advertisers as a result of the obscene outfit.

It was reported the pair were escorted out by police after turning up uninvited to perform their ‘crazy stunt’, but another source insisted they had ‘left of their own accord’, leaving the exact narrative unclear.

Insiders told DailyMail.com that despite commanding attention outside the award ceremony with the appalling move, Kanye was reportedly ‘upset’ that he didn’t get to wreak more havoc.

They added that the Grammy organisers sent someone over to speak to the rapper minutes after Bianca dropped her fur coat to the floor and revealed her shocking look.

The source said: ‘Everyone looked at them like they were crazy and the word is that he tried to create a major publicity stunt because he is worried he isn’t the center of attention any more.

‘The organizers were informed about her outfit minutes after she got on the red carpet and sent someone to tell his team that they had to go because they could have been hit with mᴀssive issues if they pulled a stunt like this on air.’

But despite the warning, the source said some industry insiders felt the move was a ‘failed’ attempt to ‘steal Kendrick Lamar’s thunder’ and that ‘the plan was to get into the ceremony and cause a scene there’.

A second insider said: ‘They were told that there was a dress code which required nothing obscene and no nudity so they were advised not to come in.’

Kanye has hit out at outrage to the stunt as he dismissed the ceremony as ‘boring’ and called Bianca’s outfit ‘art’.

While he later took to his social media to attack individual critics and brag that the stunt broke the internet and they ‘beat the Grammys’.

The father-of-four took to Instagram to show Google search results revealing Bianca was the most-searched term for the evening, later writing: ‘For clarity, February 4 2025 my wife is the most googled person on the planet called earth.’

However, many of his followers were quick to rip into the star as many accused him of being ‘abusive’ and ‘controlling’ while disparaging his need to use his wife’s body ‘as clout’ to garner attention.

Kanye could be seen issuing a series of unsettling commands to his wife before she took her black fur jacket off to reveal the stark naked look that horrified viewers and sent shockwaves across social media.

The couple were seen tensely talking on the red carpet when they first arrived, and according to Nicola Hickling, the founder and lead analyst at LipReader, Kanye was telling Bianca to take off her coat and reveal all.

Kanye appeared to tell Bianca: ‘You’re making a scene now,’ to which she nodded her head, while he appeared to add: ‘Make a scene, I’ll say it’ll make so much sense’.

Bianca nodded her head once again, to which Kanye said: ‘Drop it behind you and then turn, I got you’ as Bianca responded ‘Alright let’s go,’ according to the expert.

It’s been previously reported that the hitmaker has issued Bianca with a set of rules to live by, including what to wear and specific foods she can eat. Some family and friends are concerned that the relationship seems to be unhealthily submissive.

Kanye has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and has compared himself to Picᴀsso, Shakespeare and Jesus.
