Michelle Keegan was surprised by her closest friends with what looked to be a baby shower on Sunday, as she prepares to to welcome her first child with husband Mark Wright.

The actress, 37, took to her Instagram Stories to share a glimpse at the intimate brunch thrown by her Northern pals at the Barnshaw Smithy restaurant in Mobberley.

She showed a snap of a rustic wooden table laden with white tapered candles and elegant glᴀss vases, with an individual iced cookie and what appeared to be a little gift box tied with twine at each place setting.

Another hint in the elegant décor that the gettogether was to celebrate Michelle’s impending motherhood was the inclusion of many bunches of Baby’s-breath flowers – said to be so named because of they are a popular baby shower gift.

Michelle captioned the snaps of sweet gathering: ‘Cuuuuutest surprise brunch with my northern lot.’

While she later revealed it had been her best friend Katie Fearnehough who had organised her special day, with the help of an event planning company.

Voicing her graтιтude, the Brᴀssic star gushed: ‘How gorgeous?! You are the best @katiefearnehoughx @peonyeventsplanning’.

The following day Michelle was spotted heading out to get her hair done in Cheshire, while hiding her blossoming baby bump from view. 

The Fool Me Once star looked effortlessly stylish in black trousers and a matching lowcut top under an oversized grey coat.

In an attempt to keep a low profile, she hid behind a pair of black sunglᴀsses and lifted up her burgundy handbag to conceal her bump, as she made her way inside the hairdressers. 

It comes after Michelle shared a slew of snaps from her ‘self-care January’ last week, as she showed how she’s taking care of herself during her pregnancy.

She posted a carousel of images, including her indulging in a spot of skincare by sporting a golden sheet mask, while wrapped up in a fluffy white dressing gown.

And she also treated her growing bump to a little pamper session as she snapped a picture of a bath running alongside a pregnancy care kit from Rochelle Humes’ brand My Little Coco. 

She also included a snap of a treatment bed and tagged an aesthetics clinic, along with a clip of her and Mark, 38, enjoying a stroll together.

Like the rest of the UK, Michelle also spent the month of January enthralled in BBC’s The Traitors, as she shared a picture of the show playing on her TV while she enjoyed dinner. 

While she showed her excitement to become a mother, as she ending the pH๏τo dump with the quote: ‘This will be a good year’.

Michelle and Mark confirmed the happy news that they are expecting in a joint Instagram post in December, sharing a sweet pH๏τograph where Michelle cradled her blossoming bump.

They captioned the post: ‘2025 is going to be a special one for us…✨’

Former Coronation Street star Michelle married Mark in May 2015 and the couple live together in an EsSєx mansion they built from scratch.

Heart Radio host Mark, who rose to fame on ITVBe series TOWIE, is already an uncle to footballer brother Josh’s two children as well as sister Jess’s son and has spoken over the years about wanting to become a father himself one day.

A source told The Sun: ‘Michelle and Mark are such a TV power couple, and becoming parents is huge for them. A couple of production companies are writing up propositions to see if they’d let in cameras to follow them becoming parents.’

 ‘These fly-on-the-wall shows are huge on ITV, as well as streamers like Prime, and there is a huge audience that would love an insight into Michelle and Mark’s world.’

‘It’s all just in the planning stages and no formal approaches have been made but the offers are close to being finalised.’
