Kaia Gerber purposely chose to keep her blossoming romance with boyfriend, Lewis Pullman, under the radar following her fresh split from Austin Butler.

Although the 23-year-old model’s new relationship came a surprise to many, a source revealed to Us Weekly that ‘Kaia and Lewis have actually been together for a while now.’

‘They started dating in early December [2024]. They kept it under wraps until the news of her and Austin’s split came out. Kaia and Austin have been broken up since October,’ the insider revealed. 

Reports that Gerber and Butler, 33, called it quits after three years of dating surfaced earlier this month. 

In the wake of their split, the Palm Royale actress, who is the daughter of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, moved on from her heartbreak with Pullman, 32.

‘In early December, Kaia and Lewis started seriously hanging out and were seen all around L.A., but mostly on the east side,’ the source added.

Despite keeping things under wraps for months, the couple managed to go unnoticed in plain sight as ‘Kaia would make sure to be in a hat’ or find other clever ways to  disguise herself as they went on dates to ‘their favorite restaurants, bars and clubs.’

On these outings, the insider claimed the lovebirds did not refrain from ‘holding hands and showing PDA.’

‘They were just frequenting crowds that didn’t really know them,’ the source told the outlet.

Gerber and Pullman, who both grew up in Los Angeles, have also reportedly ‘known each other for a while now.’

Like the Vogue cover girl, Pullman has a famous dad.

He is the son of actor Bill Pullman, best known for portraying Sandra Bullock’s love interest in the 1995 romantic comedy While You Were Sleeping, and dancer Tamara Hurwitz. 

‘They run in the same circle and have similar friend groups, and that’s how they were introduced,’ the source stated. ‘Kaia likes that this relationship feels low-pressure and that Lewis is a very low-key guy.’

Prior to her relationships with Lewis and Butler, Gerber dated Euphoria heartthrob Jacob Elordi for a year and had a three-month fling with Pete Davidson.

On Wednesday, Gerber was seen looking cozy with Lewis as they celebrated his 32nd birthday at Salazar restaurant in Los Angeles.

Lewis’ actor credits include Top Gun: Maverick, where he played Lt. Robert Floyd, as well as roles in Press Play, The Starling Girl, The Line, The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial, Skincare, Riff Raff and Salem’s Lot.

He is set to star in the Marvel Comics film Thunderbolts, alongside Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan and David Harbour.

He stars alongside Amanda Seyfried in Ann Lee, a musical film centered around the Shakers religious sect. The film is currently in post-production.

Lewis also had a role in the Josh Brolin-led series, Outer Range, which aired on Amazon Prime until the series was canceled after two season.

Rumors Kaia and Austin split first surfaced on New Year’s Day 2025 – while Kaia was spotted on a holiday in Cabo, Mexico without Austin. 

Kaia and Austin had not been pictured together since their date night on October 5th in New York City. 

On January 7th, it was confirmed that Kaia and Austin split, with the outlet noting that they ended their relationship sometime at the end of 2024.

The insider noted that there was no bad blood between the former flames, only that their relationship had run its course.

The couple initially sparked dating rumors in December of 2021, and they made the relationship official when they celebrated Valentine’s Day together in February 2022.
