Katy Perry narrowly avoided disaster when a transformer exploded over her head while signing autographs outside the El Capitan Entertainment Center in Hollywood on Wednesday.

The 40-year-old pop star was just about to make her 13th appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! when she headed over to the fan-fence where autograph seekers handed her items to sign below.

Katy (born Katheryn Hudson) literally had sparks flying in her long black hair as she turned her back just in time.

Turns out a female member of Perry’s KatyCat fanbase accidentally grazed her elbow against the transformer, briefly setting her coat on fire, but there were no injuries – according to TMZ.

Once safely inside, the 13-time Grammy nominee made no mention of the explosion to the host during the interview, but she did announce her 76-date The Lifetimes Tour kicks off April 23 at Arena CDMX in Mexico City.

‘I last toured in 2017 and now I have a four-year-old [daughter Daisy Dove Bloom], so this time will be a bit different,’ Katy said on the ABC talk show.

‘It will be [her first time around the world]. She’s not going to go everywhere! But what I’ve decided is… I used to start my shows around 9/9:15 maybe a little bit 9:30 and I was a punisher! 

‘I’m going to start these shows at 8:30 cause I now understand that bedtime takes over an hour-and-a-half. I’m going to be considering all mothers around the world and fathers too.’

Tickets go on sale to the general public this Friday for Perry’s first tour in seven years in support of her dismally-reviewed seventh studio album 143 featuring the tone-deaf feminist anthem, Woman’s World.

The No More Tears For New Year’s singer – who gets 58.9M monthly listeners on Spotify – was reportedly contractually-obliged to work with producer Dr. Luke, whose nine-year legal battle against Kesha involved Sєxual ᴀssault allegations (which he denied).

On Thursday night, Katy will join Billie Eilish, Jelly Roll, Olivia Rodrigo, Stevie Wonder, and Sting at the FireAidLA benefit concert, which will be held at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, CA.

‘I’m going to collect some autographs!’ Perry gushed of the star-studded lineup.

‘It makes me so inspired and encouraged and also I was so inspired in these past few weeks watching the community step up in the way that they did. How quickly they organized! It shows that the people have the power.’

The LA wildfire disaster – which sparked on January 7 – claimed the lives of 29 people, destroyed over 18K structures, and forced over 200K people to evacuate their homes.
