Cameron Diaz has fueled rumors she will quit Hollywood again for an ‘extreme’ reason.
The Holiday actress, 52, officially retired from Hollywood in 2018, four years after starring in Annie.
She has made her big screen comeback with Netflix thriller, Back In Action, in which she stars with close friend Jamie Foxx.
However the star’s recent comments to Vanity Fair about the objectification of women in film saw speculation build she would leave Hollywood behind again.
Speaking to Charlie’s Angels co-star Demi Moore about Oscar nominated The Substance, she said: ‘All women, we are conditioned to be objectified. Period. Whether we are movie stars or not, it’s just every woman.
‘Obviously it’s more extreme in our circumstances because we’re projected onto a screen and literally objectified. We’ve had dolls made out of us. It’s just so innate. It’s so ingrained in us. We bow down to that. We serve that objectification. We try to meet its request in so many ways

‘In watching you give this performance, you don’t have to ask anybody’s permission. It’s as if there was a consтιтution written in the film industry that laid out what the film industry was, and everybody has been abiding by it for the last however many decades. Y’all went in and just shredded it to pieces and said, I do not agree with this consтιтution.
‘We are rewriting this. And not only that, but we’re going to in the most audacious, violent, crazy way that you could possibly do it.’
A showbiz commenter told RadarOnline: ‘Cam has only just returned to the movie treadmill and already she’s blasting the system.
‘She sounds like she’s ready for another break. Perhaps this time it will be permanent. She just doesn’t seem happy with how Hollywood is still making movies, does she?’
Diaz was enticed back to film by Foxx and appearing on The Graham Norton Show earlier this month said: ‘I had 10 years of not paying attention to anything; not accepting any advances, and then I got this script and thought that maybe it was time.
‘If I was going to leave my family for 10 hours a day I wanted to do it with the most talented man in the entertainment business.’
Expressing her graтιтude to still work in the industry she added: ‘It is a privilege to make films, and we are all so lucky to do what we do. That the door was even open for me after a decade was amazing.
‘I loved those 10 years for me and my family, but I thought, “If I let this go away, if I don’t engage again, and if I don’t give it chance, I am a fool.” It might be the beginning of something, but its here now and I am grateful for it.’
