Soap schedule shake-up as Coronation Street episode pulled from screens this week – leaving fans livid

Soap schedule shake-up as Coronation Street episode pulled from screens this week – leaving fans livid

A huge soap schedule shake-up this week has left fans reeling.

Coronation Street viewers are fuming that Friday’s instalment of the ITV soap won’t be airing as usual.

The popular show airs every Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 8pm and 9pm.

Unfortunately this Friday’s episode (31 January) won’t be on our screens because of the Six Nations Live.

Rugby fans will be excited to watch France take on Wales straight after Emmerdale wraps up at 7:30pm.

The match will kick off at 8:15pm and the coverage will wrap up at 10:35pm, followed by ITV News.

Unsurprisingly, Corrie fans have been left gutted about the news.

One took to Reddit to share their upset and said: ‘Yes, bad news for all you Corrie fans as there are going to be only two episodes this week.

‘Monday and Wednesday are normal, whereas Friday there is no episode due to the Rugby Six Nations takeover on ITV.

‘I’m hoping for an extra episode next Sunday to make up for it, or maybe next week.

‘Yes, Rugby and the FA Cup football will be taking over in the coming weeks. Sorry folks.’

Many rushed to reply to the post with their frustrations.

One simply said: ‘Boo!’

Another added: ‘Blah. Give me my Corrie!!’

After the rugby and the news airs, The 1% Club airs from 11.20pm to 12.15am, and then an instalment of Olivia Attwood’s Bad Boyfriends.

Next week Coronation Street will air for one hour from 8pm on Monday, Tuesday and Wedneday.

The upcoming episodes of Coronation Street look like ones not to miss.

It comes after it was revealed that the Cobbles is set to be rocked by a ᴅᴇᴀᴅly fire in upcoming scenes.

A blaze is started by a mysterious figure which sees the Platts’ home burn down.

The scenes will air on February 3.

Coronation Street airs on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX.
