Dancing On Ice star Ferne McCann was ‘let down’ by friends who ‘did not encourage followers to vote for her’ before she was axed

Ferne McCann was reportedly ‘let down’ by her A-lister celebrity friends whose lack of support contributed to her exit from Dancing On Ice on Sunday.

The former TOWIE star, 34, who was dressed as a troll for her performance during movie week, was the second celebrity axed from the compeтιтion.

She finished third from the bottom but was booted off the show after receiving the fewest votes from ITV viewers.

And while some of her pals such as f Real Housewives of Cheshire star Tanya Bardsley showed public support for the mother, some of her TOWIE co-stars lacked on the social media front.

But some of Ferne’s closest friends ‘ignored’ her stint on the show and did not encourage their followers to vote for her.

A source told the Sun: ‘ Her closest friends didn’t even post the ITV number to save her or encourage their fans to vote.

‘One of her best friends totally ignored it even though she’s been there for them through thick and thin.

‘Maybe if her friends had rallied around her and posted in her favour, it would have been a different outcome.’

MailOnline has contacted Ferne’s representatives for a comment.

Ferne landed in the bottom two with EastEnders star Charlie Brooks after receiving the fewest votes in last night’s show.

Charlie received the least votes in the first show last week, while Ferne received the least this week, meaning that they landed in the bottom two.

She was immediately thrown out of the compeтιтion without the opportunity to fight for a place in the skate-off.

After the decision was announced, she said to hosts Holly Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern: ‘I’m so gutted, so gutted, but… it is what it is. We were having so much fun, I’m really sad…’

Holly sympathetically said: ‘Oh Ferne I can see you’re upset. Listen, you’ve got everything to feel proud of. You’ve made your family proud and we’ve loved having you. Please go and do a lap of honour now for the final time.’

He said: ‘I love this beautiful, inspirational powerhouse of a woman and i want to say, I am not only grateful that you are my partner in all walks of life, but I am very proud of you for everything you have accomplished in life to date, our amazing kids, your career and importantly your growth.

‘For anyone to learn a new skill (in such a short time) is super hard, and not forgetting also being a full time mum, a business owner and then doing something like dancing on ice in-front of thousands of people is something many would not dream of doing!

‘I think you smashed the performance, it was so fun to watch, and now you have a skill for life, I’ll be the one holding the penguin round the rink and your be doing loops, jumps and swirls. Well done babe! On to the next…. Let’s gooooooooo.’

She and her skating partner Brendyn Hatfield’s journey came to an end during fun-filled movie week.

The pair danced to September by Earth, Wind and Fire as they dressed as  DreamWorks’ Trolls and was given a score of 28 from the judges.

Despite Josh Jones withdrawing from the skating compeтιтion due to sustaining an injury during rehearsals on Sunday, host Holly confirmed a celebrity would still be axed but with no skate-off.

Holly said: ‘Tonight, there are no second chances, the lowest placed couple will go straight out the compeтιтion with no skate-off to save them!’

Comedian Josh and his partner Tippy Packard were meant to perform a number from The Mask to Jim Carrey’s Cuban Pete track.
