EXCLUSIVEBradley Walsh hopes to make millions as The Chase is transformed into new immersive tourist attraction

ITV’s much-loved and hugely successful game show The Chase is set to become a tourist attraction – with host Bradley Walsh hoping to make millions with the new venture.

The popular daytime quiz show sees contestants go up against one of six chasers – Mark Labbett, Shaun Wallace, Anne Hegerty, Paul Sinha, Jenny Ryan and Darragh Ennis – to win money.

But now, the MailOnline can reveal that ITV bosses are set to cash in on its success at venues across the country – and Walsh is putting in his own money.

A source said: ‘The Chase is one of ITVs most loved and popular shows, and this is a great way for ITV to bring in much-needed money to the network.

The idea is to attract to provide ‘immersive experiences’, with the market booming as consumers look to alternatives to an evening down the pub.

There are, for example, over 1500 escape rooms across the country, while Monopoly Lifesize, an interactive in-person version of the board game, has proved a big hit.

ITV show The Cube, hosted by Philip Schofield from 2009 to 2021, has spawned two venues in London and Manchester where punters complete challenges from within a 4m x 4m x 4m Perspex cube like the contestants on the television show.

The insider said: ‘Talks have been in the pipelines for months, so much so that the London venue is not far off finished.

‘Bradley decided to invest pretty early on. He loves working on The Chase and believes that this venture will be very lucrative.’

The special The Chase attraction will give fans of the show an opportunity to show off their general knowledge and play the game for themselves.

The source added: ‘The Chasers are all behind it and will be making special appearances up and down the country to promote the new venture. Everyone is very excited.’

The show recently celebrated 15 years on our screens and pulls in millions of viewers five days a week. Spin-offs include a celebrity version of the main show as well as Beat the Chasers.

Additionally, The Chase has become a successful international franchise with versions in Australia, China, Russia, Spain, Turkey, and the United States.

Back in 2021 ITV opened an I’m A Celebrity attraction in Manchester but it closed after 18 months.

It comes after it was reported Bradley is set to ‘front a new TV series with a surprising twist’ – and its very different from his other shows.

The presenter, 64, is already plenty busy with his roles on The Chase and Gladiators but his new gig will be a different format entirely.

The programme for Sky will be тιтled Egypt’s Cosmic Code and see Bradley get to explore a field he is ‘obsessed’ with, according to The Sun.

He will venture to Egypt to explore historical landmarks with a team of experts over the three-episode special.

A TV insider told the publication: ‘This isn’t necessarily the field of expertise most viewers would imagine him having, but he is obsessed with this chapter of ancient history.

‘He’s just thrilled to have bagged a documentary where he gets to indulge the great pᴀssion, even if it doesn’t quite fit in with his current line-up of shows.’

MailOnline has contacted Bradley’s representatives for comment.
