Fury

Gladiators star Cyclone has hit back after being disqualified on her first live show.

The 23-year-old, real name Lystus Ebosele, is one of the brand new Gladiators taking part in the much-loved BBC series this year.

During Saturday’s instalment of the programme the fitness fanatic nearly got in some serious trouble while taking part in challenge Gauntlet.

Lorraine Kelly brought it up while Cyclone appeared on her ITV show on Monday morning and pointed out to her: ‘You nearly got disqualified.

‘They gave you that. Do you think you’ll push it as far as you can?’

Cyclone said back: ‘I play fair. I do play fair.

‘If you didn’t see with the dual, when I was against Keeva, she did cheat.

‘So an eye for an eye. I just wanted to level the playing field.’

During Saturday night’s episode, contestant Keeva took part in the challenge Gauntlet.

It saw her try to get past Cyclone, Dynamite, Athena, Sabre and Fire in 20 seconds.

Unfortunately Saber got disqualified after playing some dirty tactics.

The character, real name Sheli McCoy, had to leave the battle after she didn’t stay in her zone.

Keeva then took to the stage for a second time to complete it and Cyclone nearly got disqualified too.

Host Bradley said: ‘Very odd tactics from Cyclone at the end… Couldn’t stop you so tried grabbing you with her arm. It’s illegal by the way.’

He then went to head referee Mark Clattenburg to see what he thought about the situation.

Mark said: ‘Bradley we can accept it’s her first ever show.

‘But we will not accept it anymore, Cyclone. If you continue to do this, I will disqualify.’

Despite the drama, Keeva walked away with 10 points.

On Saturday fans shared that the new star is ‘terrifying’ and is a ‘good smack talker’.

At the start of the episode Bradley told viewers: ‘There’s a storm heading right for us, Barns, a brand new Gladiator is about to enter the arena and let me tell you, this girl is a whirlwind of destruction!

‘Look what she’s done to my brolly’ as he showed the audience his damaged umbrella, prompting laughter.’

Barney added: ‘To be blown away by the awesome power of… Cyclone!’

Ahead of her first episode, Cyclone said of the show: ‘I’ve got the look, I’ve got the energy and I’ve got the muscles.’

The show’s official Instagram also shared her promo sH๏τ on their account with the caption: ‘There’s a Cyclone coming…

‘Cyclone is a whirlwind of destruction that will blow away the compeтιтion.

‘Strong, determined and with awesome power, nothing will get in her way.’

The Irish powerlifter isn’t the only person that has joined the gang.

Hammer AKA Tom Wilson has also joined the BBC series.

Lorraine airs weekdays from 9am on ITV and is available to stream on ITVX.

MEET THE GLADIATORS

After smashing back onto screens last year followed by a celeb special, the iconic series is back for a second series.

The show, which originally aired on ITV from 1992 to 2000, returns with Bradley and son Barney hosting, with a new pair of Gladiators joining the ranks.

The fearsome group includes trained rugby players, accomplished swimmers, sprinters and powerlifters as well as a former Premier League referee.

Here are the Gladiators:

Bionic

At a towering 6ft 6in it’s somewhat inevitable that bodybuilder Matty Campbell is back as Bionic.

As a child he used to sprint and play football, reaching Academy Level, but a car accident curtailed his professional ambitions. It was his subsequent rehabilitation that led him to finding an alternative outlet in the gym.

Despite having never previously been a regular visitor to the gym, he found that he had a natural ability and quickly started gaining muscle-mᴀss, leading to his eventual love of bodybuilding.
