Chrissy Teigen and John Legend mourn the loss of their beloved dog: ‘We were so beyond lucky to have you’

Chrissy Teigen and her husband John Legend are mourning the loss of their beloved French bulldog, Penny, who pᴀssed away suddenly at the age of 11.

On Saturday, the model, 39, shared the devastating news by posting an emotional tribute and several adorable pH๏τos of her dog that captured her playful personality.

‘Our beautiful little tripod queen, penny, pᴀssed on peacefully in her sleep today,’ she captioned her slideshow. ‘Born the same day John and I got married, 11 years ago, she was there for us for every baby, every loss, every joy.’

The mother-of-four continued: ‘She loved nothing more than being loved, having her nub rubbed and destroying any ball she could get her paw on, even til her last weeks.’

The cookbook author went on to gently remind her followers that to ‘never forget that while every pup is just a few chapters in your long life, for them you are their entire book, their entire lives.’

‘Oh Penny. We were so beyond lucky to have you. Say hi to Puddy and Pippa for us. You are all together again,’ she concluded.

The next picture showed Penny holding a tennis ball in his mouth and another of her with her and Legend’s son Miles, six.

She also included a selfie of her next to Legend as Penny snuggled up between them.

Under Teigen’s post, Legend commented: ‘I loved this girl. We will miss you, Penny.’

The family’s loss comes just weeks after they were evacuated from their $17.5million Beverly Hills home amid the ongoing Los Angeles fires.

Earlier this month, Teigen and Legend were forced to take refuge in a H๏τel with their four children Luna Simone, Miles Theodore, Esti Maxine, and Wren Alexander, along with their four dogs and bearded dragon.

Before fleeing her home, she shared a snap of herself packing, along with an emotional update.

‘This is surreal,’ she captioned a mirror selfie from her closet as she held her hand in front of her mouth. ‘I’m very scared now. Packing.’

In the image, the star stood next to a black suitcase and gathered some of her most cherished belongings.

Before evacuating, she admitted to being at a loss for words as she described the out-of-control wildfires as a ‘hellscape.’

‘We are ok as of right now, and I felt weird saying that with so many people we know and don’t who are not ok,’ she wrote. ‘Thank you for reaching out. Looking for any and all ways to help our community right now, please send anything you see.

The former Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover girl concluded her post by writing: ‘And God bless the firefighters and all first responders.’
