Nicole Young has opened up about her future on Selling Sunset after it was revealed that she had been put on a break from filming amid her feud with Chrishell Stause.

A heated confrontation took place during a cast dinner late last year in November, per TMZ. The incident prompted Jason Oppenheim to sit down with the real estate agent and recommend that she take a step back from season nine production.

Young, 39, and Stause have been embroiled in drama which began not long after Nicole first made her appearance on the Netflix series during its sixth season.

And in a statement to Us Weekly on Thursday, Young gave an update on her status and whether she will return to filming the upcoming episodes.

‘I had a call with production two days ago during which they told me I have absolutely not been fired from the cast,’ she explained to the outlet.

‘But they chose to pause my filming schedule until next week in order to protect me from situations on set that had become very contentious.’

However, Nicole admitted that she is ‘still debating whether or not I want to continue filming in this kind of environment, especially with so many infuriating double standards.’ 

The star further expressed that ‘Selling Sunset has been a great opportunity and a wild ride, but it is not my life or idenтιтy.’

‘I have a big, beautiful life outside of the show…and thankfully in the real world, my life and personality can’t be edited or misconstrued to portray me negatively to fit into a produced storyline.’ 

Following her sit down with Jason and her temporary pause on filming, Young has reportedly not sH๏τ any other scenes since then. 

Last year in September before production for the ninth season began, Stause had stated she would not return to Selling Sunset if Nicole continued on. 

After making the declaration, Chrishell later tweaked her statement and said she would continue the reality show if ‘a zero’ was added to her check. 

In a TikTok video shared in October 2024, Stause shared, ‘At the end of the day, obviously I have very strong feelings about her that I stand 10 toes down on and I don’t take any of that back.’ 

‘I believe every bit of it. However, I am also a businesswoman. I always will be able to change my mind if you add a zero.’

However, Nicole admitted that she is ‘still debating whether or not I want to continue filming in this kind of environment, especially with so many infuriating double standards’

The reality star added, ‘So listen, I hate her, but if you are going to pay me a ton of money to go say it to her face, then write the check.’

Late last year in November, it was reported that Stause and Young were back and filming season nine.

It was noted that Nicole had signed on to return to the show before Chrishell’s threat of an ultimatum.

Chrishell appeared to have backed down from leaving the show after she realized producers were likely not willing to axe Nicole.

Shortly after her start on Selling Sunset during season six, Nicole accused Chrishell of taking credit for a listing she had previously worked on. 

They have since gone back and forth with a number of confrontations, with the situation escalating to Chrishell accusing Nicole of being on drugs. 

Season eight premiered last September, and a teaser showed Stause branding Young a ‘snake’ and saying she told a ‘disgusting lie’ about her best friend Emma Hernan.

The lie, viewers eventually discovered, turned out to be that Hernan had an affair with a married man.

The almighty fallout transpired when the agents were given screeners for the new episodes, with Chrishell claiming her friend Emma had been ‘blindsided’ by the ‘disgusting’ and ‘categorically false’ lie.

Throughout season eight, Nicole alluded to the fact that Emma was romantically involved with a married man. 

In a fiery thread of social media posts, Chrishell threatened to quit the hit show, vowing to never work with Nicole again, while also slamming the production company for allegedly not giving Emma an opportunity to defend herself.

She wrote: ‘Are we still giving air time to LIARS who just want air time?’ Weeks later, Emma discussed the rumor and the fallout in an interview with Vulture.

‘Nicole is a sick individual. I’m going to be super-candid. There’s zero truth to that rumor. I know what she’s referring to.

‘First off, it was in 2021 that I showed this person properties and then they actually asked to invest in my empanada company. I said ‘no,’ and nothing happened,’ she explained.

The two real estate brokers made temporary amends after the blonde apologized for interacting with a homophobic Instagram comment made about Chrishell.

Chrishell and Australian musician G Flip tied the knot in May 2023.

Meanwhile, former Selling Sunset star Maya Vander – who made a shock cameo in the show last season – has defended Young and insisted she ‘deserves a second chance’ for liking a ‘homophobic comment.’

Nicole later claimed her apology to Chrishell was cut from the season seven reunion but insisted: ‘It definitely DID happen!’ 

Speaking exclusively to DailyMail.com about Nicole’s actions, Maya shared: ‘I think it was honestly miscommunication.’

‘Because from what I understand, someone said a comment on Instagram that definitely supported Nicole and didn’t talk nicely about Chrishell, and Nicole naively liked the comment.’ 

‘But I don’t think she really meant to like the comment about the hate against Chrishell. I think she just overly wanted to just like the comment of getting love for someone, that’s it [but] I think, she should have thought about it a little bit.’

Selling Sunset follows the lives of elite real estate agents at The Oppenheim Group, a high-end brokerage firm in Los Angeles.

Season 8 of the show was released on September 6, 2024 on Netflix.

In December 2024, it was confirmed that the show was renewed for a ninth season, and that filming was underway.
