The Tudors star Jonathan Rhys Meyers reveals he lost his Malibu home in devastating LA fire

Jonathan Rhys Meyers revealed earlier this week on Monday that his Malibu home was destroyed in the devastating Los Angeles fires.

The Tudors alum, 47, uploaded a heartbreaking post to his main Instagram page to share the update – but positively added that he and his family are still ‘going strong.’

His wife, Mara Lane, also took to her own account to include pH๏τos of the ‘beautiful’ residence and despite the loss, penned that the ‘memories will remain forever.’

A number of residents and celebrities lost their houses in the catastrophic blazes that began on January 7, including Miles Teller, Joshua Jackson, Paris Hilton, Mel Gibson, Tina Knowles, Anthony Hopkins and Heidi Montag.

Meyers shared a pH๏τo of his eight-year-old son Wolf and typed out, ‘Unfortunately like many others we lost our house in the LA fires…’

‘But what made it a Home is still going strong. You are amazing Wolf! So strong and so kind. I feel blessed beyond measure.’

Jonathan shares his son with wife Mara – whom he tied the knot with nearly nine years earlier in 2016.

She also took to social media to further reflect on the loss of the Malibu property, and wrote, ‘Thank you to our beautiful home for all the love, memories, and laughter you held.’

His wife further remembered how the house had been ‘a space where friends and family were always welcome…’

‘Losing this home has been heartbreaking, especially all the sentimentals I held so dear. If you know me, you know how much I treasure every little thing that brought a smile.’

‘My heart aches for J and his artwork, rare books, awards, and amazing guitar collection, all packed with care by David, Dami and Angelique, ready to ship – now gone in an instant,’ she wrote.

Mara told her followers that, ‘This life is so fleeting and fragile, but the memories will remain forever.’

Lane expressed, ‘It was always a place of love no matter how complex and colorful at times, it became our safe space with big feelings always welcome/encouraged and no unkindness allowed and take twos if needed, and…will live in my heart forever.’

She concluded with, ‘What a house. What a home. What a life. My heart is heavy with sadness, yet so full of graтιтude and joy for all the moments it gave us. Thankful beyond words.’

The unique, circular residence comprised of two stories and had a mulтιтude of windows to allow plenty of natural sunlight to stream inside.

A long balcony was located on the second level while a wooden bridge led out towards some of the large rocks nearby.

A tan-colored, brick chimney could be seen on another side of the home for chilly nights near the ocean.

Mara also uploaded pH๏τos of artwork and pieces that were lost in the flames, such as painted handprints done by her son.

Another throwback image showed Wolf sitting outside on the balcony with the scenic view in the background.

In a separate post, the mother-of-one showed her son enjoying a sleepover with a pal inside the spacious Malibu house.

While reminiscing on the special memory, Mara also penned, ‘This sweet, magical home was such an honor to host several of his buddies’ very first sleepovers.’

‘They all knew they were always welcome, would always be fed a lot and we shared just some of the best times here. I hope future Wolf and his friends look back at their childhood and remember Wolf Mountain with a smile.’

The L.A. fires began just days after the New Year’s holiday amid strong Santa Ana winds.

Last month in December, Jonathan and Mara’s Malibu mansion was also threatened by the Franklin Fire which began a few weeks before Christmas. However, the home was not affected by the blaze at the time.

The Pacific Palisades fire is 70% contained as of Wednesday, and has burned 23,400 acres and destroyed 6,662 structures, per the Los Angeles Times.

The Eaton Fire around the Altadena and Pasadena area is currently 95% contained and scorched 14,000 acres, while 9,418 structures have been destroyed.

Jonathan previously owned another home in the Hollywood Hills, but was sold back in 2022, TMZ reported at the time.

The abode was sold for $2.35 million – which was $500K over the original asking price of $1.85 million.

The Bend It Like Beckham actor first bought the property in 2007 for $1.6 million.
