Based on a true story and directed by the Oscar-winning Florian Gallenberger, the film follows the journey of Daniel (portrayed by Brühl) and Lena (played by Watson) as they get caught up in the Chilean military coup of 1973, according to information from IMDB.
Daniel is taken by General Pinochet’s secret police, leading Lena to track him down to a restricted area in the South of Chile known as Colonia Dignidad. This supposed mission, led by lay preacher Paul Schäfer, is actually a place where no one has ever managed to escape from. Determined to find Daniel, Lena decides to infiltrate the cult and join their ranks.

Lady Margaret Hall recently revealed a star-studded array of new appointments, including Neil Tennant from the Pet Shop Boys. Principal Alan Rusbridger, formerly of the Guardian, emphasized that the 11 diverse appointments would help students connect with various worlds. These part-time positions will allow participants to casually join students for meals and informal meetings.
The outfits worn by the main actors created a striking contrast on the red carpet. In addition to this, they will be required to participate in activities such as debates, performances, or seminars to add a more structured element to their roles.
Other individuals appointed to the position include Malorie Blackman, former children’s laureate, Chief Constable Francis Habgood of Thames Valley police, director Beeban Kidron, musician Mark Simpson, and high court judge Rabinder Singh.
In a blog post, Mr. Rusbridger mentioned that these appointees come from diverse backgrounds, professions, and callings. The intention is for them to serve as a connection between the academic community and the various worlds they represent.

The college’s governing body initially compiled a list of potential visiting fellows, which was then further refined by a committee. Almost all of those selected eventually accepted the positions offered to them.
The announcement was followed by an invitation from Mr. Cumberbatch for the chosen fellows to make use of the college facilities for contemplation or work, as needed.
While Mr. Cumberbatch pursued his undergraduate studies in drama at Manchester University and holds a master’s degree in classical acting, Miss Watson graduated from Brown University in the United States.
Mr. Rusbridger expressed that some of the individuals being recognized today may not have pursued traditional higher education paths, with some not even completing their high school education. He emphasized the potential for mutual learning and growth during their time spent at the college.
While visiting fellowships are traditionally awarded to scholars and academics, only one of the 11 newly appointed fellows fits this description – Jennifer Rohn, a cell biologist from University College London.
