The Traitors took a dramatic turn on Wednesday after Charlotte threw her teammate Minah under the bus meaning she got to recruit with just two days until the finale.

During the most recent episode, Leanne secretly won a shield but kept it quiet from the other contestants until she attempted a strategic move by only telling Jake, Frankie and Charlotte as she believed Freddie or Alexander to be the remaining villian.

A thrilled Charlotte said to the camera: ‘Leanne just conveniently told me that she got the shield which will benefit me later.’

As the contestants left the castle for the night, Charlotte made the momentous decision to recruit Freddie as a traitor as she new she could be ‘evil’ and take him down. 

In intense scenes Charlotte attempted to convince Freddie that the pair should murder Leanne, despite her knowing she had the shield, therefore making Freddie looking guilty if the pair attempt to murder her and she doesn’t die. 

She told viewers: ‘So I’ve basically  already gone against Freddie but no risk no reward.’

Making their decision together, Charlotte said: ‘Welcome to our new home, your the first male member. Tonight is the last murder, obviously someone has the shield. 

‘Someone has it and if we miss we miss. With Jake there is that he defended Minah. With Frankie she is a great ally to both of us. 

‘Alexander is who we want to pin things on so I was thinking Leanne, she is a clear faithful and I think she is a risk to keep around. Of the four we should lock in Leanne.’ 

Freddie told the camera: ‘Omg this is so stressful, Leanne is my favourite person in here but now I’m a traitor I have to think of myself. I don’t know how to play this.’

Charlotte also sneakily told the camera: ‘I’ve decided to withhold from Freddie that I know Leanne has the shield so I’m going to use it to benefit me which is kind of evil.

‘If I can get him to murder Leanne she will come marching in at breakfast and the only two people who didn’t know are Freddie and Alexander. 

‘This thought about Leanne is next level because if Freddie is on board it makes him look guilty and it will get me into the final and get me the glory. 

‘I’ve been lying since day one, I don’t have a Welsh accent and what is another lie in this web I’ve woven. I’ve gone to the dark side now.’

Fans fear Freddie will fall for Charlotte’s trap however several were impressed with the smart cunning move and described her as the ‘best ever traitor’ and a ‘genius’.

‘If this shield play works out well (which i’m pretty sure it will) then i think it’s safe to say Charlotte is one of the best traitors the show has ever had;

‘What a genius move by Charlotte, knowing that Leanne has the shield and only her and Jake were told. Will make it look like Freddie or Alexander tried to murder her;

‘At breakfast Leanne will tell them she told Charlotte she had a shield. Freddie will need to get right into fight mode to get back at her. But she’s already on the finish line. I think she’s got this. She’s playing a blinder’.

Elsewhere in the show, fans were left in utter shock as Joe was the latest faithful to be murdered. 

As the stars arrived at the castle for breakfast, Joe was the latest contestant not to be axed causing shock among the other players. 

Frankie couldn’t hold back her emotions as she broke down in tears as she revealed she ‘really wanted him more than herself’ to stay in the compeтιтion. 

She said: ‘I really wanted for him, maybe more than me, to stay in the game until the end and I’m gutted for him that he hasn’t’. 

Meanwhile Freddie added: ‘That is such a personal lost’.
