BBC fans have branded Leanne’s final week decision on The Traitors on Wednesday night as idiotic as the show finale nears. 

During the most recent episode, Leanne secretly won a shield during the latest challenge but kept it quiet from the other contestants. 

However, following the round table which saw traitor Minah finally get banished, Leanne revealed to three others, who she believed to be faithful, that she had won the shield.

Speaking with Jake, Frankie and traitor Charlotte, Leanne had no idea that she had just told a traitor about the secret weapon as she believed Freddie or Alexander to be the remaining villian.

Speaking to the camera, Leanne said: ‘We need to get this right tomorrow, we don’t know how many traitors there are. I need to be really clever now and be careful what I say and who I trust.’

However, minutes later she told Jake, Frankie and Charlotte: ‘I’m going to tell you all something but don’t breath a word to Alexander or Freddie, I’ve got the shield. Don’t breath a word.’

A thrilled Charlotte said to the camera:’ Leanne just conveniently told me that she got the shield which will benefit me later.’

Fans were left gobsmacked by her decision to spill the news and quickly took to X – formerly known as Twitter – to share their shock. 

They wrote: ‘Why would you win the shield and then tell people when there’s high chance a traitor is sitting next to you?;

‘Leanne must have had too much to drink because why would you tell half of the house you have a shield!!??; So dumb ‘I don’t trust anyone’ Then proceeds to tell 3 people she’s got the shield;

‘Leann: I’m going to be very clever Also Leann, to a traitor: I have the shield; Leanne: “I need to be smart now” *tells the traitor she has a shield; Why on EARTH would you tell ANYONE you have the shield ?!’

As the contestants left the castle for the night, Charlotte decided to recruit Freddie as a traitor and attempted to convince him to murder Leanne despite her knowing she had the shield making Freddie looking guilty.

Fans were impressed with the smart cunning move and described Charlotte as the ‘best ever traitor’ and a ‘genius’.

‘If this shield play works out well (which i’m pretty sure it will) then i think it’s safe to say charlotte is one of the best traitors the show has ever had;

‘What a genius move by Charlotte, knowing that Leanne has the shield and only her and Jake were told. Will make it look like Freddie or Alexander tried to murder her;

‘At breakfast Leanne will tell them she told Charlotte she had a shield. Freddie will need to get right into fight mode to get back at her. But she’s already on the finish line. I think she’s got this. She’s playing a blinder’.

Elsewhere during the jam-packed episode fans were left in utter shock as Joe was the latest faithful to be murdered at the start of the show. 

As the stars arrived at the castle for breakfast, Joe was the latest contestant not to be axed causing shock among the other players. 

Frankie couldn’t hold back her emotions as she broke down in tears as she revealed she ‘really wanted him more than herself’ to stay in the compeтιтion. 

She said: ‘I really wanted for him, maybe more than me, to stay in the game until the end and I’m gutted for him that he hasn’t’. 

Meanwhile Freddie added: ‘That is such a personal lost’.

They wrote: ‘JOE’S FINALLY GONE!!!! WORST PLAYER IN TRAITORS HISTORY!!!!!;

‘This means we’ll get to see Joe’s reaction to Minah and Charlotte being the traitors on uncloaked , he was so wrong the entire time;

‘Joe has finally been murdered!!’
