Travis Barker met with incarcerated firefighters to thank them for their efforts amid the LA wildfires, taking inspiration from his sister-in-law Kim Kardashian.

Earlier this month, the 44-year-old SKIMS co-founder gave a special shout-out to the inmates battling the ᴅᴇᴀᴅly infernos in ’24 hour shifts’ while getting paid $1 an hour ‘to risk their lives.’

Standing in solidarity with the incarcerated ‘heroes’,  the husband of Kourtney Kardashian spent time listening to their ‘human[izing]’ stories at the Rose Bowl Complex in Pasadena, California on Monday.

Non-violent offenders part of the Anti-Recidivism Coalition were amongst traditional first responders sent out to the first lines to battle the blazes ravaging Southern California.

‘A lot of them came from the juvenile system and this program gives them the ability for real change and to make a difference. To see the humanity in all of them was amazing,’ the Blink-182 drummer told TMZ.

He also noted that the coalition is beneficial to the incarcerated first responders and community alike, claiming, ‘They saw themselves as criminals before because that’s all anyone told them  and now they are being told they are heroes, first responders and they begin to see themselves differently.’

Director Scott Budnick was also in attendance alongside the musician, the filmmaker champions putting an end to mᴀss incarceration in California.

The All the Small Things hitmaker also met up with members of the National Guard who are also actively serving communities impacted by the devastating fires.

‘So much love to the National Guard for their hard work,’ he wrote above a snap of the group.

On Tuesday, Travis took to Instagram to share snaps from the special gathering, that picture him conversing with the ‘hero’ inmates and thanking the group for ‘raising awareness.’

Posing with the incarcerated firefighters, he wrote: ‘These guys are heroes. they are risking their lives to serve people. Save people. Help people. And become men in the process.

‘So much love and respect to @calfire and @scottbudnick1 I love the awareness that the anti recidivism coalition is bringing to the incarcerated guys working these fires. A lot of them came from the juvenile system and this program gives them the ability for real change and to make a difference. To see the humanity in all of them was amazing,’ he penned.

Budnick also shared a snap of Travis sitting with the incarcerated firefighters, praising him for ‘stopping by and showing love’ when the group had finished their battle for the day.

Just weeks ago, his sister-in-law Kim urged California Governor, Gavin Newsom to raise the incarcerated firefighter pay to a rate that ‘honors a human being risking their life to save our lives and homes.’

‘They get paid almost nothing, risk their lives, some have died, to prove to the community that they have changed and are now first responders. I see them as heroes,’ the SKKN founder noted.

The star noted that the incarcerated first responders $1/hour pay has never been raised with inflation and while efforts have been made to increase their wages, it has never been finalized.

‘This year there was an agreement to raise the incarcerated firefighter pay to $5 per hour, but it got sH๏τ down last minute,’ she wrote via social media.

More than 100,000 residents of the City of Angels were forced to flee their homes and 27 have died as scattered blazes have continue to pop up in Southern California.

And some A-lister’s have already devastatingly lost their million dollar mansions.

Anthony Hopkins, John Goodman, Miles Teller, Billy Crystal, Mandy Moore and Jen Atkin are among those whose homes have been destroyed by the untamable inferno.

Many famous faces have taken to their social media pages to re-post free resources available to those who have fallen victim or been displaced due to the ravaging wildfires.
