After an eleven year hiatus, it’s not only Hollywood that benefits from Cameron Diaz and her return to mainstream cinema.
More than a decade after her last appearance onscreen, Diaz is preparing for a new role in the appropriately тιтled Back in Action, a light-hearted thriller that also stars Jamie Foxx.
But away from the day job she’s also back in front of the camera for different reasons, with the actress taking another central role as cover star for the latest edition of Vogue Mexico.
Diaz, 52, looks stunning in a series of images taken by renowned portrait pH๏τographer Norman Jean Roy.
In a distinctive cover sH๏τ, the American actress models an elegant, textured black evening gown with an off-the-shoulder detail.
Another sH๏τ captures Diaz in close-up as she gazes off-camera, while a third and fourth frame her in black and white as she poses outdoors.

Reflecting on her decision to make another film after more than ten years away – her last screen appearance came in a 2014 remake of Annie – the actress admits even she was surprised.
‘I thought I would never act again,’ she explained. ‘I thought I had left all that behind to dedicate myself to my family.’
Indeed, the actress withdrew from public life in order to focus on her responsibilities as a mother to her two young children – daughter Raddix, born via surrogate in 2019, and son Cardinal, born in 2014 – with musician husband Benji Madden.
And she says it was Madden’s words of encouragement that empowered her to make a career U-turn and return to acting.
‘[He said] Now we support you, we let you shine and do what you love. It’s your turn,’ she recalled.
But despite his support, the actress admits she still harboured doubts about her ability to shake off the rust after so many years of inactivity – before finally taking action.
‘I just jumped in,’ she said. ‘I thought: What do I need to do to be ready? And then I did the job, like I always have.’
During a recent appearance on The Graham Norton Show, Diaz also credited co-star Foxx for ushering her back into the industry.

She said: ‘I had 10 years of not paying attention to anything; not accepting any advances, and then I got this script and thought that maybe it was time.
‘If I was going to leave my family for 10 hours a day I wanted to do it with the most talented man in the entertainment business.’
Expressing her graтιтude to still work as an actress, she added: ‘It is a privilege to make films, and we are all so lucky to do what we do. That the door was even open for me after a decade was amazing.
‘I loved those 10 years for me and my family, but I thought, “If I let this go away, if I don’t engage again, and if I don’t give it chance, I am a fool.”
‘It might be the beginning of something, but its here now and I am grateful for it.’
