There has been backstabbing, murder, fake accents and made-up jobs on the third series of The Traitors.

The BBC show, hosted by Claudia Winkleman, has soared in popularity and racked up a record number of views, with the first episode of this season alone scoring an audience of 10million.

As the Traitors and Faithfuls head into their final week at the castle, the ᴅᴇᴀᴅline for applications for the next series is rapdily approaching.

If you think you could spot a Traitor a mile off, or feel up to the task of deceiving a Faithful, you have limited time left to apply.

Applications for the fourth season of The Traitors close on February 9.

‘A team of players will compete in a series of missions, the more missions they complete successfully, the bigger the prize pot.’

This series saw a range of challenges completed by the contestants, from having to decipher nursery rhymes sang backwards by creepy dolls, to finding Faithfuls in coffins.

The application advert adds: ‘However, hidden amongst the players are the Traitors. The Traitors meet in secret and decide who to eliminate from their fellow players known as the Faithful.

‘The aim for the Traitors is to stay undetected until the end, the aim for the Faithful is to banish all of the Traitors before the game ends. Throughout the series, there will be twists, turns, rigorous challenges, shocks and surprises for the players.

‘A game of trust and treachery… do you have what it takes to play?’

Applicants must be over 18 years old and reside in the UK. The form requires your name, date of birth, job and email address, amongst other details.

Anyone interested will have to answer 11 questions about themselves, including whether you would choose to be a Faithful or a Traitor.

It comes after the latest series of the BBC show saw 2.2million 16-34 year olds tuning in, breaking its own record for most-viewed episode of the programme.

This makes the third series debut of The Traitors the biggest BBC unscripted episode since the first episode of Planet Earth III and the biggest BBC audience for an Entertainment programme since the 2023 Eurovision Grand Final.

It also had the biggest on demand audience for an unscripted show since at least 2022 (when the new BARB audience measurement system began).

In addition, episodes 2 and 3 have been watched by over 9million each so far.

‘It’s the perfect order for January viewing and this series has brought even more twists and turns to keep us all guessing.

‘Claudia Winkleman and the brilliant team at Studio Lambert have delivered a masterpiece again!’

The much-anticipated final week is set to be rocked by an earth-shatting twist, as all-powerful villains Charlotte Berman and Minah Shannon step up their plot to win the prize fund.

There are just three episodes of the beloved BBC show left before Minah and Charlotte try and steal up to £120,000 in prize money from the Faithfuls in a dramatic final showdown.
