The Fantasy songstress, 55 – who confirmed her budding romance with Anderson .Paak, 38, three weeks earlier – flaunted her fashionable look during a spontaneous pH๏τo shoot inside a spacious elevator.

The star wowed wearing a figure-hugging minidress that clung to her frame and contained glittering details on the fabric.

Carey layered the eye-catching outfit with a fuzzy, black coat to help keep her warm in the winter weather.

Her long locks were parted to the side, and effortlessly flowed down past her shoulders in elegant curls.

Mariah opted for minimal accessories to allow the dress to be the main focal point, and sported a pair of brown shades.

In the caption of the images, Carey penned to her 14 million followers: ‘Starting the new year in one direction only… going up!’

The performer has been keeping busy and was seen stepping out in Aspen earlier this week for a shopping spree at Kemo Sabe. 

She didn’t let the chilly temperatures deter her from putting on a stylish display wearing a dark brown, knit dress and a fuzzy brown jacket. 

Mariah completed the ensemble by slipping into a pair of suede heeled boots and brown gloves. 

Inside the store, the mother-of-two made her way down steps following years of rumors that she ‘doesn’t do stairs.’ 

The reports first began in 2008 on Channel 4’s The Friday Night Project where comedian Alan Carr claimed that the singer had requested a ‘staircase ᴀssistant.’ 

The job of the special ᴀssistant would be ‘to check the stairs for her to see whether she could walk down them,’ per The Guardian.
