Award-winning Netflix spy thriller The Night Agent is just days away from returning to screens after taking the charts by storm.
The drama, which premiered in March 2023 and based on Matthew Quirk’s book of the same name, will land on the streaming service on January 23.
But fans will be intrigued to know that there is a big change ahead.
Gabriel Bᴀsso as Peter Sutherland and Luciane Buchanan as Rose Larkin are the only stars returning to the cast.
The likes of Fola Evans-Akingbola, Sarah Desjardins, Eve Harlow and Phoenix Harlow won’t be back on our screens.
The pair will be joined by Amada Warren, Brittany Snow, Arienne Mandi, Louis Herthum, Berto Colon and Teddy Sears instead.

Netflix renewed the spy thriller sensation The Night Agent for another season, just a week after its debut.
After becoming one of Netflix’s most ever watched shows, the streaming platform confirmed production would immediately start on a second series.
The series follows a young FBI agent who becomes involved in a dangerous conspiracy centered around a mole at the White House.
Back in October 2024 the show was renewed for a third series.

When will The Night Agent season 2 be released?
January 23 2025.
On March 29, less than a week after it premiered on Netflix producers confirmed the spy series would return.
Executive Producer, Shawn Ryan, said of the renewal: ‘To see tremendous reaction to the show has been a great joy and is a credit to our cast, our writers, our directors, our crew and our partners at Sony Pictures Television and Netflix.’
‘We couldn’t be prouder or more excited to get cracking on Season 2 to share the further adventures of Night Action with our newfound fans.’
Katherine Pope, President of Sony Pictures Television, also confirmed the continuation of the series.
She said: ‘We are thrilled to see The Night Agent become an instant global sensation and can’t wait to continue telling this story with our remarkable cast, creative leader, Shawn Ryan and our wonderful partners at Netflix.’
‘The Night Agent’ Season 2 has not yet entered production. The Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike has likely delayed the start of production, but development on scripts may have begun prior to the strike.
The show scored highly among audiences and fil critics and remained in the Top 10 Netflix shows for weeks after release
How many episodes will there be?
The second season of The Night Agent will consist of ten new episodes, just like the first series.
The length of each episode is yet to be confirmed, but are likely to last between 45-55 minutes – the average length of episodes in the first series.
The finale of season 1 wrapped up many major storylines but left room for more. The series holds the potential for new characters and new plots.
The Night Agent season 2 is likely to delve into these aspects and continue the action and suspense of the first season.
How well did The Night Agent season 1 perform?
The Niqht Agent scored extremely well and quickly became one of Netflix’s top-performing shows, ranking at number 3 in viewership during its premiere week.
It lost out on first and second place to Wednesday and Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.
The series appeared in the Top 10 in 93 countries and remained in the category for ten weeks.
It holds the record for the fifth most-watched show of all time within the first 28 days metric, with 626.99 million hours watched.
The show was also favoured by film critics and received a 7.7/10 rating on IMDb and a 68 rating on Metacritic.
Audience scores for the series were positive, with an 82% score on Rotten Tomatoes, while critic’s scores also stood at an impressive 69%.
