John Bishop paid heart-warming tribute to his wife Melanie on Instagram on Sunday after the pair enjoyed a two-week holiday in the Caribbean together.

The comedian, 58, has been with his partner for 31 years including an 18-month period of separation in 2000 and 2001.

And the duo looked as loved up as ever during the break in St Lucia, with one pH๏τo showing the pair posing in front of a spectacular bay with the Peтιт Piton mountain in the background.

John wore a fire orange short-sleeved shirt with sky blue shorts, while Melanie sported a low-cut black top and light grey shorts, accessorising her look with two thick bracelets and an anklet on each leg.

He added a caption reading: ‘When you are into your fourth decade with someone and life means that you spend big chunks of time apart, it is sometimes difficult to find the time and place to reconnect properly.

‘Spending the last two weeks in a unique H๏τel that had no tv, no fourth wall and not even a lift despite it being over 500 steps to the beach has been exactly what I and @melbish1 needed.

‘We are lucky to be able to do this and blessed to keep finding each other when we look. Still the one ❤️

‘Huge thank you to Daniel and @chef_elijah_jules who really was exceptional making us a special vegetarian menu every night.’

Another cute snap featured Melanie leaning over the edge of an infinity pool and wearing transparent plastic-rimmed circular sunglᴀsses. 

A separate picture of the couple showed them beaming at the camera and matching their black tops and clear sunglᴀsses. 

Other pH๏τos saw the pair posing at lunch, on a hike, with some pigs and on the beach with a huge old-fashioned galleon sailing in the background.

The couple met at college in Manchester and married in 1993. They share sons Joe, 28, Luke, 26, and Daniel, 24, together.

John previously told with heart-warming honesty how stand-up and relationship counselling saved his marriage.

In the early days of his marriage he says he was a blunt, unemotional Northerner who was unable to express his feelings to his wife.

Meanwhile, they were also spotted enjoying a lunch during the romantic St Lucia getaway

In 2023, John gave fans a glimpse into his wedding anniversary weekend away with his wife after celebrating 30 years of marriage

But when the couple separated he took up stand-up comedy and started talking about the split during his stage routine.

It was only when Melanie chanced upon Scouse funnyman performing that she fell in love with him again.

They went on to get their relationship back on track with the help of some Relate counselling.

‘Both stand-up and going to Relate changed me,’ John told The Mail on Sunday in 2013.

‘I stopped being scared of talking about what I felt. The consequences of not doing that are bigger than the consequences of doing it.

‘When I was younger, I wasn’t very emotional. But there’s a point in your life where there’s nothing to be scared of any more. I just didn’t realise it at the time.’

Last summer, John took his act to the North America for the first time, performing in Philadelphia, Boston, New York, Nashville, Chicago, Toronto, Denver, Seattle, Vancouver and San Francisco.
