Sam Thompson and Zara McDermott fans were left cringing after the former couple appeared together Michael McIntyre’s Big Show on Saturday, filmed shortly before their split.

It was revealed by MailOnline the Zara and Sam had split last month after five years together with Zara recently revealing has has moved out of their Chelsea home. 

However in their final joint TV appearance they were surprised by host Michael, 48, in the middle of the night before he ushered in a whole host of famous guests. 

Sam was reunited with Celebrity SAS’ Jason Fox who challenged him with holding huge weights while being quizzed over his relationship with Zara. 

After he failed to remember what the Strictly star had bought him over the years, Jason asked forcefully: ‘Do you actually love her?’.

Fans at home were left cringing by the awkward scenes which continued back in the studio with Sam and Zara appearing happier and more loved up than ever.
